Are you happy about the Tiki Room?

My only issue is that I think they cut it a bit much from the original. It seems to clunk on flow at the cuts but also having seen the original in DL recently, that only makes it more noticeable. I understand why they cut it. It seems like crowds have much shorter attention spans now. So a lot of the slowest parts got the cuts.

WDW's is the same as the one in DL. The only cut is one musical number the "Offenbach" number (You stay off en my bach and I'll stay off of your bach".

What I don't like is the middlescrew bands that you can see holding the birds to their perches. They could have easily covered these and they are very noticeable on all the birds.

I would imagine it was a change for the better. I missed the original so I'm excited about seeing it. Hey not everything needs to have a story. Look at the new changes to Kilimanjaro Safaris... :brick:

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Tiki Room....have it as a ring tone option!!!! I was thrilled when they announced the return to the "original" and besides the fountain missing, I was quite content to see it 3 times last month. I had seen it years ago and it was a treat to have my children see the previous show after telling them it was better before those awful birds moved in....they celebrated that fire telling me it must have been intentional by a disgruntled CM.

I love the multiple things happening, the humor, and the music. It became all the more special to us when we discovered it's history from DL. Reading the stories on how Walt asked Wally Boag to create a script and how it transpired with Wally and his cohorts doing the voices...Wally doing the main Jose....a fellow from Spike Jone's band doing the sound effects...the tour Wally gave on a Disney DVD we saw on the original behind the scenes room that ran the attraction....it was the icing on the cake after discovering Wally's extreme talent on the bonus features for the Golden Horseshoe for the DL Treasures DVD....I have no problem understanding any of the words....and it has become more special to us the more we read on it, remains a classic high quality Disney attraction imho.:sohappy::king:

It's not the best attraction but it's all in good fun. It's not bad.

That's what i love about disney though to be honest...Apart from mission space and other simulator rides, there isn't a ride that i've been on at disney that i thought was absolutely shhh-aving cream.

So yeahh, it's not the best, but it was enjoyable.

Maybe i'm from the small portion of people who really didn't think UNM was all that bad. The new Tiki Room was ok but i found it kind of boring in comparison to UNM. I'll still do it once a trip but it just seems a little eh. I did like the preshow though.

No I am not happy at all the idea is there for a good ride but the outcome was rushed and not complete. It falls short in every way now. Besides long time disney fans this ride is unwanted. This ride plays to small crowds and will fad more with time. I think unm was better only because you could relate much easier to the characters and songs. It was not great but was worth a watch. I I think a new update will come soon this version now seems only temp.

Small cuts were made. I believe one of the songs (Let's All Sing Like the Birdies sing, if I recall correctly) was shortened. Other than that and the lack of the fountain, I can't remember any other differences between WDW's and Disneyland's.

I agree. They need to relate to the more established musical trends. Hire a few modern artists to write some Rap and Hip-Hop music for the birds. Also, put some bling on those birds with a few gold chains.

I like this "new" version much better than UNM. Even after defeating Iago they never sang the whole theme song, and the rest of the score was hard to sit through.

Exactly, the fun of the original show was lost and taken to a really annoying place with Iago

Update the classics, enhance them, and add to them, but don't replace them with temporary pop culture references. It won't keep your audience.

Also, it isn't a "Ride" its a "Show"!
