Are you doing anything special in prep for your trip?

My goal for my trip is to lose four stone (56lbs) before we depart in feb.

I am so scared that they will stop me going on the rides! I can see it now:

"Sorry Miss your bum is just too big for EE, you may get mistaken for the Yeti"

Well at least I would be a moving Yeti :ROFLOL:

Plus I wanna be able to wear a bikini at TL.

Anybody else doing anything like this???

Yeah i'm going to try to lose 20lbs in the next two months! As of today we are 60 days out before our trip!! I'm gonna try realllly hard!! I want to lose the weight I gained while pregnant! My son will be 2 in oct & the weight is still with me :ROFLOL:I have a gym membership that hasn't gotten much use...so starting next week I plan on hitting it at least 4 days a week & then cutting out soda, ice cream...any sweet! Hopefully it'll work! Wish me luck!! Good luck to you as well!!

Mine is not weight loss associated, but we wouldn't be making a trip this year if it weren't for my other adventures.

I am competing in an Ironman Triathlon in Louisville, KY. As a thank you to my wife and kids for putting up with the months of training I booked the trip for December for our first Christmas trip. They don't know about it yet. I plan to surprise them in about a month.

I am walking, hiking, and biking.

Not necessarily to lose any prescribed amount of weight.

For me, the difference is to FEEL GOOD all day long at Disney. Being used
to walking 5-7 miles a day--a couple of months of doing that, and being at Disney World will be so much more enjoyable. I don't care how much
I weigh, I care more that I'm fit and able to enjoy the parks.

The way I look at it, no one at WDW cares how I look--but when I want to keep going to new attractions and my feet say NO--that's a problem!

*puts on 'WDW Today' podcast on headphones and heads out for a walk*:)

I too have started walking. Depending on how my legs feel, anywhere from one to two miles. I find that I actually enjoy walking, but not around a trail. Luckily, I live about a mile from a school track so it is easy access for me. I have type 2 diabetes so I would like to lose some weight to help me with that, plus I would just like to be in a size of clothes that I never remember wearing! I hate to say, but I need to lose about 40 pounds. Yuck.

P.S. Oddly enough, my weight has never kept me from doing things, especially walking around WDW. My feet don't give me trouble - much!

We collected change. Every time I would pay cash for something I would put the change in my pocket. Once home I would put it in our Disney piggy bank. It added up nicely. We are paying for the Hoop Dee Doo with it.

I want to start walking next week. I think the kids and I need to get into shape. If I lose a little weight that would be nice too. I don't want to lose too much and not have clothes that fit. Shorts and capris are hard to find this time of year even on clearance.

We always start walking in the Spring every night (for a September trip), although its tough to get your feet accustomed to the daily treks of WDW. That is where good shoes become key. Never wear new shoes!

Oh yes, I always try to loose the "winter weight" gained every year during hibernation.

I too want to loose weight, but so far.....not going well. I was hoping to have some cute pictures of me at Disney this trip. Oh well, still gonna have a blast at my super happy place.

We have 58 days til our trip, so every night we talk about what we are most looking forward to doing and have been keeping a personal list. We don't want to miss anything that is important to both of us.

im also trying to go on long walks to get ready for my upcoming sept trip. my feet and legs are always so exhausted at wdw. i hate that when you lay down to go to sleep and it feels like your feet are still moving. so i am trying to prepare myself this time. i also collect my change and use my disney visa to collect ddrds.

I also collect the change. It usually goes right into the Mickey piggy bank. Recently, I remembered a small - very small - savings account that I have in Virginia (I live in Missouri). To get any money out of it, I have to go online and it would take a week to get a check so it is not easy to get to. I leave it alone. So, I have been saving up one dollar bills which I have done for awhile and sending them to VA. I almost have my deposit saved up for my trip in 2011! Oh, and I do the Disney Visa too. That was the first thing I spent on my last trip.

I have to give the wife props on this topic, she has lost over 30 lbs. in preparation for our trip, we just had our first born child, and she's gone to the gym religiously 4 days a week, every week. She lost that baby weight, and is ready to go. In addition, we've been taking 3 mile walks at night, keeping me in shape (i'm not trying to lose weight, just not gain any:)). We have not been collection change, rather for our birthdays or Mothers Day, Fathers Day, etc. we've gotten Disney Dollars from each other, and family, we now have $300 worth of Disney Dollars!... Trip is paid for in full, meals are taken care of, some spending money taken care of, ADR's are set. Last order of business will be MNSSHP tickets, i'll get them next month, and we'll be fit and trim and ready for the perfect vacation!

Words of encouragement never hurt anyone! I have one friend who really helps me out and my son does also. But, not much from anyone else. I realized one day just how much I really did appreciate her words when I thought about them during the day.

EaglesfanNJ, your wife is doing a great job! :sohappy:

When we booked our trip back in January my wife dug out the photos from previous trips including from our Honeymoon there in 1997. She comented how thin I was back then , I decided to try and get down to 12 stone again (which meant I had just over two stone to loose). We leave on Monday and I am now... 11 stone 12lb! Bet I am not that after two weeks with Mickey! :ROFLOL:

Hubby and I just started a pilates class. I started back on the elliptical after being off a little too long. (had a pneumonia over the winter) Don't know what my excuse was after that :veryconfu ??
We are going on our first cruise this December. (Disney of course) Followed by a trip to WDW. It's our 15th Anniversary - Definitely something to celebrate :sohappy:

I'm not looking to loose any weight but we don't eat out ( or drink any soda ) all year because I want to prepare for all that naughty eating on our vacation. I figure if I am good and I make healthy food all year for my family than our treat one week a year is to eat whatever we want at our favorite place.

"Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!" :D

Every trip I say I'm going to lose weight but I never seem to succeed, lol. Mostly I'm just saving money. Cutting back on buying things and saving all my change.
