Wait til 2025 and go to Epic Universe instead. At least it will be something new.
I think next year is gonna be exploring Texas. We moved here 11 years ago and haven't really explored beyond the Alamo. Maybe visit some family up north. Not sure I can stay away from Disney for 2 years straight. 🤪🤦‍♂️

That’s what you need at regional/traditional amusement park.

Disney - credit to them - does not. When they were expanding their properties they played that game…but that era ended.
Most of what Iger built in his last ears - my opinion - where for his personal vanity/ego…not to generate buzz or counter “competition”. Rich men are vain and think about “legacy”…poor schmucks (and chapek) just check their checking account and 401K each day to see if they got a Buck?
I totally understand that. I don't totally blame Disney on that. At regional parks your average guest gets excited for new additions. I don't feel it's the same for your average guest at Disney. They have some initial excitement when somethings announced but it seems to wain quickly.

You do have some good parks in Texas. Six Flags Fiesta Texas is one of the better Six Flags parks and SeaWorld San Antonio is good too.

Social media has been a tremendous gain for Disney…especially with videos and bloggers.

Disney doesn’t even have to pay to advertise anymore…really. Their products are promoted every nanosecond and they just watch it play
Yep 100%. You think they care that some bloggers/vloggers are making money off their product for free while they are in theory getting millions of $$$ in free advertisement…

I understand that. Prior to Covid I would fully believe that and for the time being its still happening. With the lack of major announcements at D23 there isn't much to get your average guest excited to miss out.
I agree but any announcement means nothing w this company as we know & their big draw will be Tron & hoping the new Epcot show draw people there as well which im sure GoTG is helping out along w Rat still as well. Teasing people with HEA returning will draw some of the old hardcore fans back as well… but i still think there are plenty of overseas people who have yet to go back along with families in the states who will need their fix as well which can carry them a couple more years easily imo and then imo they are gambling EU will draw some high priced sloppy seconds who go visit and come to the Mouse for even 2 days which would be ideal profit margins for them as those people will
Be paying top dollar for 2 day hopper tickets genie+ and ILL…

I agree with a lot of what you said. Personally as much as the overseas guests what to come I don't see it happening as much as it used due to prices of flights and everything else. Maybe once things get better it will.

Anyone who watched my real-time meltdown in the D23 thread knows what I think about that turd of a presentation. That said, I'm trying to look on the bright side and talk myself off the ledge. Sure, it looks like we're in for a bit of a dry spell in terms of new attractions, but I think we might be under-appreciating the things we've gotten in the last few years.

Let's compare two decades.

2003 to 2012:

Major Attractions
- Soarin'
- Expedition Everest

Minor Attractions
- Under the Sea
- Enchanted Tales with Belle

2013 to 2022:

Major Attractions
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Flight of Passage
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Rise of the Resistance
- Cosmic Rewind

Minor Attractions
- Na'vi River Journey
- Alien Swirling Saucers
- Smuggler's Run
- Ratatouille

On paper, we should be looking back and saying "wow, what a great Disney Decade this has been at Walt Disney World," yet it feels like everything sucks. Why?
Because if I'm happy with Disney for these new attractions I get flamed as a pixie duster. So called Disney fans attack anyone now who is happy with the parks.

I agree & i think that happens just in time for when Disney is going to need that clientele. If they had any brains right now i be working on AK redo for PW & TS. I know net net it brings in no new rides but if done correct it adds 2 ride people may actually want to ride. Now with that being said can be a good & bad thing as that park is in desperate need of more capacity as well.

Listen i have been critical and cynical of this company for many reasons not just the Way they have handled more like bungled these parks. Getting involved im some of this other nonsense well…. But after just getting i was pleasantly surprised with how my trip went. Honestly was better than expected for most part. Are there still glaring issueshat need to be addressed some that to me are an easy fix 100% does this company still have issues at the P&R level 100% but again we still had a fun time.

No one said you can't be happy with what's there. When 2 of the parks have areas that need work there is also major issues. Epcot has 2 pavilions that are in need of fixing/opening and AK has a mess in what was Dinoland. I don't care what they have previously added, what matters is what's coming and it's nothing.

Wait a second…how are you “offended”?

Nobody is telling you not to like something…we all like things about Disney or we wouldn’t be here.

Just don’t defend them when they produce crap. They had a rough weekend…proceeded by a rough couple of weeks…proceeded by a rough year…proceeded by a rough decade or two with parks…

Now that I think about it…I probably SHOULDNT think about it 🤪

…but anyway…relax

It’s a product, not a way of life. There’s no “oath of allegiance”

For us, prior to 2016, I didn’t pay attention to what was going on at Disney or Universal. That had to do with not being financially able to visit either of those before. Same as I don’t pay attention to the newest BMW or Mercedes, can't afford it, so ignore it.

I can understand that. I'm sure when KI was building Orion you watched a lot of updates on that.
