Are there microwaves at Carribean Beach & Pop?

Hey everyone, in less then 2 weeks we are going on our trip. We were wondering if there are microwaves available at Caribbean Beach and Pop Century.

We are thinking about packing a suitcase full of food to save some money while we are there. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

There are microwaves in the food courts at both resorts. If your room isn't close to the food courts, it may not be worth it. It can be a long walk at both resorts.

Maybe you can re-think breakfast items if you are worried about a line. Bring instant oatmeal, and use the hot water from the beverage bar, or bring bagels, and use the toaster there (There are two or three) jelly and butter are free, cream cheese is 50cents. Or just bring cereal, pop tarts and granola bars.

You can also get a grocery delivery, which would mean you could have refrigerated/perishables in your room, as well (fridges are standard at CBR). We made instant oatmeal using hot water from our room's coffee maker. In your room, you can also do cold cereal and milk, bagels and cream cheese/butter, yogurt and granola, etc. We also made sandwiches once or twice, stuff like turkey, bologna, cheese, etc.

Someone mentioned the walking distances to the food court, location of a microwave. Yes, please keep that in mind. If you use the microwave but then intend to take the hot food back to your room, it may not be hot when you get back. Even from my preferred location room at CBR last year (Trinidad North 3340), it was a good 5 minute walk to the food court. Plus, if you need to heat several portions, then the ones you heat first will be sitting out while you heat the others and then you'll have to walk back, etc.

Definitely no microwaves in the rooms at either resort. As others have said, you're probably/possibly better off with either cold meal options (cereal, sandwich fixings), or stuff that you can "cook" instantly with hot water (instant soup or oatmeal) than lugging your food to the food court to use their microwave. Plus, being in the food court will only make you rather have their meals, and that can be a bummer.

we had a mini fridge at pop century so we did cereal & milk. sometimes you can use the coffee maker to make hot water for oatmeal (or hot chocolate), but we prefer nutra grain bars and quick stuff to eat on the go. i'm not a morning person, and we are usually running late. we can sleep late and lolligag at home. once we get up, we are losing quality park time! go, go, go!

Bear in mind, unless you need a fridge for medication, getting one at a Value Resort is supposed to be a $10/day charge. Depending on how many meals you plan on making yourself and how many people are in your party, if you're staying at a Value, once you factor the cost of the food AND the cost of the fridge, you might not be saving all that much, you know?

Refrigerators are free of charge at all moderate resorts now.
