Only the odd number rooms.

I don't know, but I'm interested to find out. Would show if they are looking "to the future" for their guests.

I would doubt they are there though. Blu-ray will be the next big thing within a couple years, and we'll all be converting to that.

Well considering how cheap DVD players have gotten over the past year or so. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney could get a bunch of them in bulk for a good price to put in their DVC resorts.

Besides the blue laser players/burners are still a few years away from en-mass commercial production as the current standard is right now. Even then, they will be terribly expensive like standard DVD players were a few years ago. It will be many years before they become as cheap as the current standard is today. SO I doubt Disney is going to wait around for that.

Starting with BCV they put DVD player in the room. Last year they started changing over the VCR to DVD players at OKW, BWV was next. I expect VWL to be last. (When we were at VB there was VCR in all rooms.)

It isn't chaning over the VCR units to DVD players that is costly. It is chaning over the video libary to DVD's that is difficult.

SSR is new so they have DVD to start wtih.

thanks for all the replies. when made the reserveration on the phone I swore that he said it did and as time has passed I was not sure if I had imagined it. I was trying to decide if I needed to bring my lap top for my daughter to watch movies in the room in case of bad weather.

thanks again.

The video library is small and cheap, the video titles are all disney so the cost is rather small.
replacing thousands of vcrs with dvd is much more money!
And the dvc member dues pay for it not disney

you are correct, the video library is not very extensive, add to that the damage that DVDs incur from careless people. And, yes, DVC members pay, not Disney.

We bring our own movies, then we can watch what we want.
