are the toy guns coming back?

That line of thinking can be applied to ban all sorts of things and would lead to us all wrapping ourselves in plastic bubbles and quivering under blankets all day every day. Cars can be made into bombs, but we don't ban cars. Airplanes can be flown into buildings, but we don't ban airplanes.

Listen man...I'm just saying what the conventional wisdom is behind it...don't like it then start an online petition LOL...

As a kid i remember buying one of the toy wooden guns which it was very very clear was not a weapon, but i had to leave it at the airport like 15 years ago as they did not like it! Just get it posted back if you want one, not sure how Disney is really going to deal with it, they have always been there!

As a person whose fear of guns is her biggest, I could see why they ban them-many fellow visitors could mistake the guns for being real. I remember reading a news story once where a twelve year old was chased by cops because they thought his gun was real. The reason why they assumed this? The boy had painted over the orange tip of his gun. I've also read stories of kids getting suspended for bringing toy guns to school because teachers mistook them for real ones. One of these incidents even happened with a LEGO gun.

I dont agree with them, i had them as a kid but in no way would i let my kids have one. theres enough real guns and crime in the world. leave them for the video games and movies.

I'm offended by the Orange Clown who is inexplicably a front runner In a national election right now. Since I'm offended, do I win?

Even though I disagree in general with Disney's ban, I do think this is a pretty fair point. However, heaven forbid the giant army of Star Wars geeks and nerds succeeds in creating a real lightsaber then...
A real lightsaber? I don't think anyone will live long enough to see that happen.... But I would expect that there is much more danger at Disney from laser pointers than from toy guns... To many places are selling laser pointers that are way to powerful to be safely used in the open but you see people with them in the parks now and again... I'll bet you have some poor soul getting his eye put out from a laser pointer before you have someone hurt from a toy gun.

People we are talking about toys. They are just toys. Everyone is so offended by everything it's like people run around looking for something to be offended by, it just hacks me off that Disney caved to the everything offends us people once again.

I tend to agree. I'm not saying Disney should sell realistic looking toy guns in their shops, but in regards to obvious plastic incarnations with orange tips, I don't see the big issue. Like 'em or not, guns are a big part of Disney franchises from Star Wars to Pirate's.

I was in World of Disney (Anaheim) the other night, and I noticed too that even with the statute of Mickey shaking hands with the police officer, the officer is unarmed. Which is cool if he's booking Mickey into jail, but not likely in full uniform.

Even Winnie the Pooh keeps a cork pop shotgun by his bed to protect from Heffalumps and Woozles should they kick down his door at night. ;-)

Didn't like them when they were there and happy to see them removed. I just don't see the need to have kids running around the parks with plastic guns in their hands. It's honestly just annoying more than anything else when they're mindlessly whipping them around while everyone has to try and avoid it.

Maybe the LEO is a lefty. Maybe it's under his jacket. With the exception of the hat, how do you know the officer is not British?

Well, because he has an empty gun holster on the right side of his belt. I suppose he could be an "appropriate authorised firearm" officer, but kinda lame to wear the holster empty then. I did look on the left side too, no firearm.

'Sides, most British Constables wear black versus Navy blue any-how.

I'm not going to beat a dead horse and re-post but please see my post on the first page. It may not have a dang thing to do with anyone being offended (yes, there are amazingly enough issues that DON'T involve hurt feelings in this world). You assume it was because someone got offended when the truth may be very different than that.

I didn't see the empty holster. That changes everything then.
