Are the light up Mickey ears still a thing?

A couple years ago I bought my son the light up Mickey Ears for Fantasmic. There weren't a ton of people wearing them for the show or last year when we went to watch Wishes. Do people still use them or am I wasting my time lugging it around in my backpack? I love the technology but it's not very cool if not a lot of people wear them. Thanks!

They are selling them throughout the parks...But, I hardly see anyone wear them tho as they aren't utilizing them the way DL has done with all their nighttime shows...If they at least used them for Illuminations and Rivers of Light with the other usage for Fantasmic & Wishes...It would make sense..

As mentioned, still for sale, but you they aren't used in enough numbers of have any impact. They just look like random light up items scattered throughout the crowd.

The only time is was ever effective was when Disney gave them away to huge groups for promo video shoots.

At the beginning of the webcast Disney did of a Fantasmic show a few weeks ago, they mentioned about a new version of them and they had some that they handed out to the crowd - something about how they fit... I don't know if they have something up their sleeve for more use of them during the shows or not, and not sure if the new versions they had are what's for sale in the Parks now or not.

While we have the wands, I still think it's cool to be able to see them change colors with the shows. While we've only used ours at DL, we watched our wands changes with the colors and patterns on the Fun Wheel. We also had a few CMs and guests use their wands and brushes to change ours.

They are still sold, but they have absolutely seen a decline in use around the parks. I remember being there when they first were used on World of Color and Fantasmic at the Disneyland Resort. It was truly one of the most amazing things I had ever seen. The thousands making up the crowd was just as awesome as the show itself. My most recent World of Color viewing, I could barely find 5-10 in the crowd actively using them. :-/

I have two pairs of light up ears - the ones with the big pink bow that are part of the Made with Magic collection and the light up Minnie ears (similar design to the ears you can buy at Fantasmic!).The regular light up Minnie ears have a plastic head band with teeth. And the pink bow ears are very heavy - purchased them to wear during Wishes and only wore them once.

Neither pair of ears are very comfortable, so they are basically gathering dust in my closet. I hardly wear ears anymore as the headband style ears are so tight, they start to give me a headache after awhile. And the original style ear hats just don't fit my adult sized head very well. Plus, I hate that elastic chin strap...
