Are the doom buggies ever rerouted in the HM?

The last time we rode the Haunted Mansion on our recent trip, I could have sworn we did not go through the new staircase scene. I thought I was going crazy, and asked my husband halfway through the ride if I was imagining things, and he also did not remember going through it.

Are we crazy??

Some one correct me if I'm using the wrong terminology, but I think that the Haunted Mansion Doom Buggies are an "Omnimover" system, meaning that it is one continuous chain of vehicles - either they're all moving or all stopped...and that's why we sometimes get stuck in creepy parts of the mansion hearing a creepy Spanish-speaking guy tell us to remain seated!

I know....we've been on it a bunch since then. But during our last ride of our recent trip (last week) we must have totally blanked out during that part!

I must really be crazy, when I was there in April I noticed a lot of upgrades, but I don't remember the "staircase scene" that happymom is talking about.
