Are the A&E FP+ lines crazy?

I just talked to a friend who was in WDW last week. He was at MK every day and was at the carousel in Fantasyland a whole lot because that's his daughter's favorite thing to ride in life. So he had a nice view of Princess Fairytale Hall for a lot of his trip.

Anyway, he's telling me that the FP line for Anna and Elsa was always an hour or two. Is he exaggerating, or is this true?? I read the forums like crazy and I haven't seen anything to support this. But this friend knows I don't do well in crowds and he's describing an insane amount of people packed in that line for hours at a time...even with a FP.

My FP for A&E is for Saturday 5/18, 12:05-1:05. A busy time of day on a busy day of the week. Should I just dump it? My 4-year-old would get a kick out of meeting them once we were actually inside, but it's not at the top of his list (he's disappointed there's no Olaf or Sven). If I kill the FP, I'll just stop talking about it and he probably won't miss it. Anyone have any info or thoughts on this?

I haven't heard, but are there other meet and greets that would interest him more? Or maybe a better use of that would be a parade?

Nothing wrong with a little boy wanting to meet the princesses, but if he is disappointed that he's not going to meet Olaf and Sven, I bet there are other options that he would enjoy just as much if not more.

I wouldn't be surprised if the FP line was an hour or so, considering how long the non-FP line is.

DO NOT DITCH YOUR FASTPASS FOR ANNA & ELSA! Even if you accidentally do it and try to get it back a second later, it WILL be gone. FP for this meet & greet are hard to come by and go very fast.

The regular standby lines at Epcot & at Magic Kingdom have really hardly dipped below 2 hours. You will most likely see 3-4 hour waits with some exceptions that are greater than that. I'm not sure what FP+ waits are like, but even if they are long, they are considerably less than the standby.

So, if you know for sure he doesn't want to see them, then go ahead and get rid of it, but there is no going back after that. I would keep them and wait until literally the last second to change or even let it expire before I would dump it.

Yes, but she was asking how long the wait is in the FP line for this. Are you saying the FP line has hardly dipped below 2 hours?

ACK. I don't want that FP if I'm going to have to wait an hour or more anyway! :in pain: I will lose my mind in that crush of humanity.

I am in the same exact boat!! My four year old boy loves Frozen and I scored Fps for next Wed. I have been going back and forth about ditching them because I don't want to have to wait a long time even with a fp. I hope there is someone who has been there recently that can tell us for sure.

IF this holds true, and I guess we still don't know the answer to that yet, I would be tempted to replace that FP with something else and then make sure he gets to meet Mickey, Gaston, or some of the characters at Pete's Silly Sideshow, given that he seems to be more interested in the less girly characters from the movie than he was the princesses. You've still got a few days to hype up some of those characters :)

Here's another thought: could you sneak over to the FP line without him a few minutes before your arrival time to check out the line? Maybe get someone else in your party to take him to the bathroom or to get water while you scope it out? I would think passes for most other things that would appeal to a four year old would still be plentiful and you would be able to easily change it out if the line is too long.

We had a FP+ at 9:10 last week. We were in & out, hardly anyone in the FP line. But then, it was early in the day. But at the time of my FP the standby line was 3.5 hours (10 minutes after the park opened). DD loves the carousel too, and so we saw the FP line often. I never saw it backed up out the door the 2 days that I was in MK. I would hold onto your FP!

YAY!!! Thank you all!!! I'll keep it and dump it on the fly if things seem unusual that day. My friend is usually very on-the-ball--don't know how he saw what he saw, but I'm happy he seems to be wrong!

Hi, I have a general FP question. We were there last June when the new system was only being tested. So does the new system seem to be favorable to most people? Are most people reserving their rides at home before their trip? What about people who don't know about it (or choose not to do it), how are the lines for them?
