Are Show Seating FP “Unattached”?

Hi guys! Our fam is returning to WDW for the first time since FastPass+ came around. At DLR, the WoC FP is “detached” meaning it does not take up a FastPass “time spot”. Now I see with reserving FastPass+, they count as a reserved FP. But once in the park, will you indeed have to wait until that last, very-late-in-the-day Show seating FP is used before you can pull another FP? If so it seems like a waste because you won’t be able to get more than 2 FP for actual attractions that day. Hmmm. TIA!

Hmmmm...well that stinks! Why would anyone reserve seating using a FP then? Are any of the shows that hard to get a spot for? Rivers of Light maybe?

Fastpass areas are generally better viewing than non-FP areas.
Not as good as the paid areas though.
Generally.

Depends on how long you want to wait and hold a "non-FP" spot for! When we did FP for Illuminations, there was an extremely long line just to get into the FP viewing area. People had been standing in that line for 45+ minutes (they opened the viewing area like 30 minutes before the show started). Needless to say, even though we had FP for Illuminations, we were really lucky we got a decent spot at the railing (actually, we got shoved out of that spot, but our 2 kids could stand there).

When we do DLR, we always manage to book a dinner that gives us the preferred seating for WoC.

You don't need a FP for Illuminations, but it's worth it for Fantasmic! - in any case, don't make them your first three, but rather check back in the app after you've used up your initial FPs to see if there's additional availability left (there often is).
