are off site guests allowed in park during magic hours?

They used to have CM's stationed around the park who would check resort id's and I guess today that would be MagicBands tied to resort rooms. If you were not a resort guest they would tell you that the park is only open to guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel and they would ask you to head to the exit. I am not sure they do that anymore.

I wish they still did this. :(

I agree. EMH is a perk of staying on-site. If Disney is going to let people stay in the park for Evening EMH, they need to do 1 of 2 things: 1. Let everyone enter the park for morning EMH and have off-site guests just have the ability to spend money (off-site guests would NOT be able to have access to the FP+ kiosks or anything until the park "officially" opens including hoarding queues for rides) or 2. Get all of the off-site guests out of the park for evening EMH.

I think option number 2 of what I suggested would be easier. Option 1 would be a mess because face it, you'd have a super hoard of people that would take advantage of being able to get into the park early as a scout, get in line to get in the line for a certain ride or meet and greet and it would just lead to some big brawls.

It's not Extra Magic if EVERYONE can experience it. They kick all the non-party guests out on party nights because it's a separate admission. Well, even though the admission is the same on a normal day, they should be able to do the same thing with on and off-site guests when the park "closes" for the day and EMH start.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Which is one of the reasons why we avoid parks with EMH like the plague.

Your loss avoiding EMH. The best times we have in the parks especially MK and EPCOT during evening EMH because you can walk on with little to no wait on most rides. Rode BTMR several times in a row many nights and lots of our other faves at each park with at the most 5-10 min wait! I really don't understand why people avoid parks with EMH especially the evening ones. But hey that's less people, we that love them, have to deal with so feel free to "stay away". LOL. :)

I think that poster was saying they avoid the early morning hours due to the log jam of people at the gates. It's not about the park itself, but getting through/around the people who are waiting outside the gates for the 9am opening when you're trying to get in for the EMH at 8. At night, it's a different story, everyone's already in.

Yes might be and I get that totally, but I hear a lot of posters in this board avoid evening and morning EMH parks altogether those days, and advise newbies to do the same. Never understood that at all as we love like mentioned especially the evening EMH and usually are in the park all day as well, and never found those parks more crowded etc even the morning EMH parks all day long. To each his own I guess. :)

I always do the Evening hours. An hour in the morning goes by really quick. I agree, with evening hours you can get on a bunch of rides with little to no wait and rainy extra magic nights are even better. You basically can have the park to yourself because people don't want to be in the rain. It makes for GREAT photos, especially the World Showcase!

hey everyone...

we are off site guests and was just wondering if we are allowed to enter the park during early magic hours and just not allowed to ride the attractions... or not through the gates at all?

thanks
You cannot get into early EMHs if you are a non-resort guest. Only way would be if you had an early ADR.

For the evening EMH, you are more than welcome to wander the shops, get a bite to eat, etc. They check MBs at the attractions.

IMO, if you are not utilizing EMH, avoid that specific park for the day. EMH parks tend to be more crowded.

Totally agree! So if people keep avoiding them that is even better for us that love those nights!! Lol :)

This still does go back to what I said earlier though. The EMH are a perk for staying on-site. If guests who stay off-site are still able to wander the WS during evening EMH (since there's not really any rides), that possibly doesn't lessen the number of people that are there. This is where IMHO, Disney should be checking and directing out people who shouldn't be there. For the MK, I use evening EMH for pictures, rides and shopping. Well, if all the off-site people are shopping, makes it kind of hard to do that. And yes, I shop late because who wants to carry things around all day (if you're not shipping it home).

It seems to some people, myself included, that EMH and Disney greed are getting crossed. Sure, Disney wants your money, but they're putting a really big bend in the rules by saying that those people staying off-site just can't do anything except for walk around or buy things.

I mean, we have threads here where people want Disney to raise prices super high to thin out crowds, but yet they can't even make EMH run correctly. If evening EMH is going to allow guests to wander and not do any attractions, then so should the morning ones, or neither of them should allow people who aren't supposed to be there... There shouldn't be a double standard.

Okay. Thanks for your insight. I will stay away. Did you think you one upped me or something? I could care less if you have more space in line because I'm not there. I stated my opinion. I don't think my opinion required a snarky remark from you. I'll stay away. I don't do Extra Magic Hours and I've never had a problem getting on a ride in 5-10 minutes or less. I love how some people think that their way is the best way. If going to the parks during Extra Magic Hours works out for you then fine. For me, the parks are generally extremely crowded on extra magic hour days and nights.

Everyone does things their way. To that I say that the weekend evening EMH, depending on the park and time of year, are avoidable too. If you know how to work the parks, you can do anything and everything you want to do without the EMH (unless there are things that are closed which are beyond your control.).

@G00fyDad, sorry this poster wanted to pick at you some, but we all know everyone's own way is the best, lol. I'm still on the boat that Extra Magic Hours were a perk for staying on-site. Just like the Halloween and Christmas parties are a separate admission, EMH are something that Disney does for those guests that are paying to stay on site, and their letting people who are off site stay and enjoy the park is going against the very purpose of the perk itself. EMH isn't just a ride allowance... Yes, you can ride more stuff, but EMH should be giving you emptier shops, lower crowd volumes, not just the chance to get on rides quicker and more often.

Yes. I understand. I just don't like it when somebody says that I'm silly for not liking something they like. :D

If we all liked the same things, the world would be a pretty boring place. Be silly in WDW, it's one of the few places left you can be different and still fit in ;) (within public view where doctors won't diagnose you with something, lol).

I'm totally not understanding your logic here. If I'm not an on site guest then.... No entry for morning EMH, period. No problem. I can live with that. I agree, let the people staying on site enjoy the perks. But if I'm already there and I'm NOT staying onsite and I've been at EPCOT all day and had my fun, what's the problem with me sticking around and having an ice cream, etc after hours? I can't ride anything anyways. So how would I be in your way? The EMH is mainly for onsite guests to have first dibs on the rides without the whole world being there. So go on your ride without the HUGE long wait and I'll sit here and enjoy my ice cream..... With sprinkles...

I mean let's face the facts.... The parks do clear out A LOT during the evening EMH. It's not like the whole population of EPCOT stays bc of EMH.

Just curious as to why? The way the system is set up now, only the EMH guests can ride rides. Isn't that perk good enough? Who really is bothered if us 3rd World infidels who are not staying on property are just walking around, sight-seeing, or shopping? If our presence alone is causing this much distress, then maybe the EMH folks bothered by this should buy curtains so they won't even have to glance at our sorry existence.

We do. I guess what irritated me was the idea that what I do is wrong and what he does is right. I wouldn't expect anything we like to do to be something he might like. For example, we like to go to Downtown Disney on our first day and skip all parks. That might seem odd to others but I'm not going to give anybody grief for not liking my idea.

Because one of the unspoken perks of Extra Magic Hours is they have a much more emptier park. It makes it nice going from ride the ride when you're not having to brush elbows with half of humanity. As a perk it should be only people who are staying on site.

But again, as I stated before this is just my opinion. It doesn't upset me that non-resort guests are allowed to stay. I just think I should go back to the way they used to do.

The park is closed to off-site guests when EMH start. Therefore, they should be shown the way out. It's the price you pay for staying off-site.

Edit: You said it yourself that EMH is partially for on-site guests to get on rides without the whole world being there. Well, if the whole world IS still there, it makes it hard to get around ;). And no sprinkles for you, sprinkles are for winners! :P

That's what we do. I go see all the merchandise, maybe hop on the monorail and ride around, just get settled in.
