hey everyone...

we are off site guests and was just wondering if we are allowed to enter the park during early magic hours and just not allowed to ride the attractions... or not through the gates at all?

thanks

I *think* if you're already in you are allowed to hang around. I mean, how would they know?

If it's a morning EMH you will not be able to get in at all bc they will scan your band or card. HOWEVER, if it's a night EMH then you can stay in the park and eat, shop, etc. You just won't be able to ride any of the rides. Disney will NEVER turn away a customer that wants to spend money in their park no matter when it is. Some people say castmembers walk around and check people but they don't bc you don't HAVE TO use the band. I'm a passholder and I hate the band and never wear it. I use my card. So enjoy....... Just without the rides.

My friends are locals so they do not stay on property. But when there are evening EMH, we stay and walk around, shop, etc., they just can't do any rides/attractions. I have to ride alone :geek: lol

I agree with some of the other posters. If you are not a Disney resort guest Disney will allow you stay in the park and spend money as long as you want but you will not be able to ride anything. I believe CM's are instructed to tell guests that the park is open for resort guests but are not told to tell the guests to leave. I know years ago at EPCOT they would stop guests at the entrance to every pavillion and tell non-resort guests that the park was closed to day guests.

But....they will not let you enter the park after official closing time, if you are not a resort guest. You must already be in the park when EMH starts if you want to stay and loiter.

From my experience (we've always stayed onsite, and always go to evening EMH), if you're already in the park before EMH begins, and you do not go on any rides or attractions, you can stay in the park and walk, shop, eat. I've never seen random guests walking being checked. I've only seen guests being checked at the entrance to attractions.

They used to have CM's stationed around the park who would check resort id's and I guess today that would be MagicBands tied to resort rooms. If you were not a resort guest they would tell you that the park is only open to guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel and they would ask you to head to the exit. I am not sure they do that anymore. Now they check at attraction entrances. A friend who works at Disney said that today Disney is more willing to let a guest who wants to shop or eat spend their money. It is just the attractions they will not let them ride

Which is one of the reasons why we avoid parks with EMH like the plague.

I wish they still did this. :(
