Are and WDW parks doing anything for the release of 'Planes''?

Or rather, "DisneyToon Studios."
They're the bunch that make those direct-to-Walmart Tinkerbell movies.

It makes me wonder how Jon Cryer Would have been for the voice of Dusty before he dropped out and it was changed to Comedian Dane Cook..I remember seeing Jon Cryer promoting it at the D23 Expo 2011 when they showed the Teaser trailer for it.

1. They also made Ducktales before they went to the cheap sequels. And despite being a cheap sequel, "Return of Jafar" wasn't actually that bad. Animation was a bit choppy, but the story was okay.
2. That was before John Lasseter was made Chief Creative Officer. Lasseter HATES the direct to video sequels. He was the one that called them "cheapquels" first. And if he put his name on this, there's got to be some better quality to it.

I don't know about you, but I'm going to see this movie before I judge it.

My family is looking forward to seeing this. We have been seeing merchandise in stores for a while now. I bought my two little guys shirts and mini planes. Last week there was a preview of the movie in WDW for DVC members.

Ducktales was overseen by a completely different outfit and the animation, at least the good stuff, was mostly by TMS.

As far as Lasseter goes, the man's enthusiastic but he's no guarantee of quality.
Between Cars 2, Toy Story 2 and 3, Planes, and now Finding Dory he seems to be just as comfortable with endless sequels as his predecessors.
Even if he says he isn't.

1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DuckTales_the_Movie:_Treasure_of_the_Lost_Lamp by Walt Disney Television Animation....which was later renamed "Disney MovieToons" which then was shortened to DisneyToon.

2. Toy Story 2 and 3 are two of the best sequels ever made to any movie. And Cars 2 was pretty damn good, all things considered. (though to be completely honest, with all of the 1960s James Bond influence, I think plot could have made one heck of an Incredibles movie....)

See that, you doubters, someone who enjoyed Cars 2 isn't worried about Planes...so what should we be worried about? :cautious:

Cars 2 was far superior to Monsters University. At least with C2 I wasn't bored out of my mind until John Ratzenberger's cameo.

I figured you were talking about Ducktales the show.
At any rate, the current outfit calling itself "DisneyToon Studios" is in Burbank.
Whether or not it holds the same name due to some shuffling of Disney's corporate hierarchy or not, this studio has nothing to do with the people who made the other movies you listed.
These are the Tinkerbell people.

They Shamelessly added eyes and a mouth to NOV234 Mickey Mouse plane on the Backlot Tour to Promote it..That's about as close as it will get now..

Their plan is to have a meet and greet or dark ride in a few years based on a franchise that nobody has any interest in. Does AI come to mind?
