Are ADRs necessary for breakfast at Boma?

If we're staying at AKL do you guys think we should book in advance for breakfast - or could we wander along quite sure of service when we fancy in the mornings? Also did I hear they do free coffee in the am in the lobby?

ADR's are always recommended. You might be able to walk up if you arrive as soon as they open for breakfast. Also depends of the time of year.

I would make a reservation if you would like to eat there, but I was not overly impressed with the Boma breakfast. It was fine and the handful of "African" style dishes were a nice touch, but it was similar to the breakfast buffets I've had at the other Deluxe resorts.

I would highly recommend making time for a dinner at Jico while you are at AKL. The meal there was amazing ... one of my all time favorites at WDW.

Well, check out the online ADR system. If you see lots of availability for the days you are there, then you may be ok. But if you are only seeing scattered slots, well, then you might want to make a reservation. However, doing a Boma buffet for breakfast each day is a quite a lot of food (and a fair bit of money as well). The breakfast at Mara is usually pretty good, and is CS so no ADRs needed.

Plug in your dates, desired meal times, etc and you can see what is available. What is on there is what they will offer over the phone, and nothing is held back, so if it is booked solid online, then it is booked solid. And most places won't accept walkups, especially during busy times. The only exceptions are Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex as they hold back alot of reservations for their own system, so try calling them directly if needed.

I just picked some random days over the next few months for Boma breakfast, and most offered at least 3 times, but check for your specific dates.

I had the reservations for my upcoming trip, but will be solo at the end, and am not sure I want to go alone.... bummer. Love it there.

You're never alone at disney! It's full of love and happiness - go enjoy your breakfast xxx
Better still, take your phone/ipad/laptop and check in here when you are there and give us a live report of the tastes, the smells and the sounds - we can live vicariously and enjoy a virtual Boma breakfast with you. X

Just a little tip its Not always true if online shows it booked that its fully booked. I have been online and called at the same time...online had nothing and on the phone they had a ressie available and not just the credit card guarantee ones which sometimes you have to call, it was for a regular non guarantee ressie. So even if someone sees nothing online they should always call as well. :)

I would probably make an ADR to make sure you can have breakfast there. I was able to walk up and only have to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. I took the risk and it worked out. Now that I know how good it is, I would make an ADR.
