APs and DDP?

Hi guys,
This is my first post-I searched for this and I could not find it, sorry if this has already been asked!

I am looking into buying an AP. I can only find that AP holders can get "discounts" on dining-are they able to buy a dining plan? Is it any cheaper than if I just booked a package? Or is it simply a "10%" off a meal kind of thing?

The AP itself comes with some discounts. They can be found of the page about APs on AllEars.

You can also purchase a package that includes the Dining Plan, but you'd be paying full price for the Plan.

Lastly, as an AP-holder you can purchase a Tables in Wonderland card that gets you 20% off at many Table Service restaurants in WDW, and a couple Counter Service places.

TiW is PHENOMENAL!! Not only do you get discounts at the table service - but also discounts at a few counter service places at the Animal Kingdom and more 20% off at the Value Resorts in the food court.

Ah this is good to know. Husband and I are trying to figure out whether we want to do the DDP in February or if we just want to get the TOW Card. He still thinks it would be cheaper to do the DDP

Best bet would be to sit down, look and menus availabel online, and create a "mock vacation" of what you'd order at each place. Then subtract the 20% discount for the applicable meals (remembering that TiW gets you the discount on alcohol and appetizers, too). Add it up, and compare that to what you'd pay for the DDP.

Don't forget to also factor in the purchase price of the TiW card, too.

Based on how *I* eat, the TiW card won out over the DDP, except when the DDP was free under the Free Dining promotion.
