April or September?

Hello Everyone!

I was initially planning a trip to Disney with my 4 year old for April, but now she's OBSESSED with The Nightmare Before Christmas. She now also keeps asking if she can meet Jack when we go to Disney World, so I'm trying to decide if it's better to wait until September to go during MNNSHP. I know that September is hurricane season, which makes me really nervous, but the prices are a lot lower to go then and it seems like they're almost always offering Free Dining this time of year .

What do you guys think? Like every other kid her interests change so often, but I don't want to take her in April and have her mad when she can't meet Jack.

Either way you can't go wrong she will be so excited to be their she won't remember to be mad April weather gets cooler at night September can get very warm but the Halloween party is so awesome well worth going just for that

I think the free dining occurs later in the fall, i.e., November. The crowds will be less in Septembe as April is typical school vacation time.

Personally, I'd opt for September/October time frame, but that's just me.

We went in September this past year and it was insanely hot and crowded. I probably won't go in September again (because of the heat). The lines to meet Jack and Sally were like two hours long at the Halloween Party, and there was no way I was going to stand that long, but my daughter was only 15 months! Maybe you'd have better luck with yours.

We just happen to be going in April, so I'm anxious to see if it's a little less crowded!

Wow that surprises me. When in September did you go. I can see the heat, especially if its in the beginning of the month, but the crowds. Most school systems are in session after labor day (many go back in the end of August).
We went 9/19-9/26. This September seemed to have thrown every one off. It used to be a less busy time, but appears that everyone has caught on and it was very crowded. I'm talking ToT had a 105 minute wait crowded.

Rain chance and temperature are both higher in September But the crowds are less.
I personally go both times of the year (and I also live in florida) and they really are not that different. Since she is 4 there is a chance she may forget about Nightmare before christmas and move onto something else in a year. So i would go in April because it is closer

Love that idea, please message me your credit card info so I can buy the tickets :D
You know...I was just getting ready to send it and realized it's already maxed out with our disney trips planned haha. If it were me, I'd go in April...you're going to have cooler weather then, plus you could do the F&G Festival at EPCOT.

We went in September, right after @ScarletBegonias and she's not joking, it was crowded. So many people come for Food & Wine. It was definitely still fine, but certainly not sparse like people say. And yeah, my husband couldn't walk outside without being instantly drenched in sweat. It was HOT. That said, we had an awesome time and I wouldn't trade it for anything :) You really can't go wrong!

Our 2nd and 3rd favorite times to go, so you can't go wrong. Between thanksgiving and Christmas is our favorite. April is better with weather bc it's not rainy season like it is in the fall. But if u love the f&w festival and mnsshp you can't go wrong with September. April is beautiful for the garden festival too

We've gone in early April and crowd levels were quite manageable but we found it too hot. I guess being Canadian, anything over 25C is a borderline sweatfest. We much prefer late January or mid March. Going back this coming Jan 27 and expect the weather to be great for us, as it was last year.

I'm also in the VERY early stages of planning a potential October 2018 trip, so will know in a few years what the fall is like!

I wish I could go in January or February, but it's just too close to Christmas for me to be comfortable going financially.

I think I'm going to listen to the majority of you all and go in April. I'd LOVE to go for MNNSHP, but this isn't the first time I've heard how crowded it is in September anymore.

Thank you for all of your help!

What about going at the very start of September? That was always the quieter bit anyway I believe. Maybe this year was a bit of a one off, I thought it was fine last year 27/9- 11/10. My sister went right at the beginning of September and it was very quiet!

I had a client that was there from Sept 5 through probably the 9th or 10th. She said the crowd levels were pretty low, so I guess things picked up a lot right after that :/

I wish I could do the very beginning of September, but my daughter will be starting kindergarten and I don't want her to miss the first week. :(
