April Hours

For anyone who visited Sea World this past April, can you tell me what their hours were?

I was planning to visit next April and they don't have their hours up yet for that month. When we went in 2003 and 2004, I think they closed at 10. That's probably still their hours for April but I just wanted to check.

April before last we managed to see the later show of shamu meaning the park closed after the show however shamu rocks america wasnt on this year and i cant remember what time the show ended all i know is that it WASN'T dark.

Sorry cant be of more assistance but hope this makes some sense ?!!

All the parks will stay open late during the peak spring break weeks. This usually takes place the two weeks leading to Easter and the week following Easter.

Shamu will most likely post their April hours by November.

Sea World in the past has usually closed at 7PM at the latest during the spring months. If Easter is in April the parks will probably be open till 10PM the week of and after Easter; but the summer shows like Sea Lions Tonite, Shamu Rocks, and Mystify will not be running. Nov., Dec., and January they typically close at 6PM except between Christmas and New Years. 9AM is opening every day of the year.

That makes sense. When we went in 2003, we went to Sea World on Thursday and Easter was Sunday. Then in 2004, we left for Florida on Easter Sunday and went to Sea World on Thursday. And both times it was open until 10 PM. And both times, we went within days of Easter.

So with Easter being on March 23 next year and our prospective visit to Sea World being April 17, would it be logical to assume that they will close earlier than 10 PM?

I'm actually kind of hoping they have an earlier closing. I was at first expecting to be there all day and evening until close, but my wife gets pretty worn out alot quicker than I do, and I would also not mind having more of the evening free at our Disney resort. On the other hand, not having been since 2004, I want to see the new Shamu show. So if the park closes at 6 or 7, then I don't have to feel like I'm "leaving early" and missing something. LOL

Yes, been going to SW for years. Looked at schedule for past years before I posted my last reply. I would guess 7PM for closing in April 2008 then. You won;t be missing the night shows at all since they only do them during the summer. To see Sea Lion Tonite show or Shamu Rocks you have to go to the parks between Memorial Day weekend( last week of May) and Labor Day weekend( first week of Sept.)

We probably meet my son who works at Disney at SW about once a month to hand over money( still a college student) and make sure he has a good meal<vbg> so we tend to only meet him when the park is at least open till 7PM since he usually gets off work at 5. If you are not eating at the park that night, you can probably do everything by 5PM because there will not be as many people in the parks as there are at other times. It also seems that except for in the summer you are "reaching "to find things to do after 5pm because there are only a couple shows after 5. Our sons can usually ride Kracken over and over again without a wait. It almost seems like your private park on some evenings when you are there during the winter/spring months. The lighting is low, you only see a few people in a lot of areas, and it is just relaxing see the dolphins and sea lions at that time of day.

When we went in April 2003 and April 2004, they had the nightime finale "Shamu Rocks America" and it obviously wasn't summertime. So was that only because we went so close to Easter?

Those dates were within the 2 weeks of Easter on my 2003 SW schedule so the park was open till 10 during that time. They usually only have Shamu Rocks when the park closes at 10. There may be exceptions to that of course. Can't find the other calendars from SW but they generally have the same opening and closing times for the same days every year of course adjusting for holidays and unexpected busy days where they will add extra shows in the evening if the parks are really crowded. I have been there when they extended the day by an hour and had a later Shamu show that was not listed on on the park map. Best way to find out for sure would be to contact the park.

We saw Shamu Rocks America during Easter 2003 with late closing hours. However, August 2006 it was Believe all day long and the same nighttime show - no sign of Shamu Rocks America.

According to SeaWorld (I emailed them last week) Shamu Rocks America is "seasonal"
