April 2011 Aerials

From the new picture it appears that the walls of the Dumbo queue "tent" will be concrete. I guess this is to cut down on the noise from the Speedway.

What are those little stick looking things poking up through the dirt?

kidding! *runs away*

PS but before I go I would just like to say that this is a great addition and thanks for the pictures.

Something I noticed the the one aerial... There are construction walls around one of the planters near Dumbo. If you look closely, it almost looks like the planter itself is entirely gone. Could this be the beginnings of work on the "Castle Wall", which will eventually go right through there?

Kinda looks like it! I also have another question! When Dumbo's gone and the construction walls move forward...won't it be very cramped?

Does anyone have the new aerials with those blueprint marks?

I'm really terrible locating things on these pictures... :hammer:

They look great, tho! :sohappy:

There was actually an article about this a few weeks ago. You can see the pictures here:

There will be plenty of planters and greenery around the new castle walls going here... I don't see this as much of a loss in the grand plans.

Forgive me if this has been discussed in other threads.

What strikes me about this aerial shot is just how large the former TTF plot is, and the lack (to our knowledge) of what is going there.

That huge piece of land between the tents and Barnstormer (where Mickey and Minnie's houses were and the Donald boat sat) looks about the same size as the Barnstormer and Dueling Dumbo plots combined. (The train station is gone, which will take up some of that space, but not much).

I know the drawings suggest some sort of water play area going in there. But that plot is just WAY too big for only a feature like that.

Does anyone know if Disney is keeping this area open as a future expansion pad? (And if so, will they be walling off some of that vacant land? Even with landscaping that just seems like too much space for nothing to be there.)

Or is it possible that something unannounced will still get plunked down there (perhaps as a Phase 3 after SDMT)?

The space looks large enough for a spinner or two. With DCA building 2 new spinners (Mater's Jamboree and Luigi's Flying Tires), it seems like a low-cost no-brainer to bring one of them (re-themed, of course) to a circus-themed area (where you'd expect to see a spinner attraction).

Nope, no expansion pad there.
Between the tents and Barnstormer is just the Casey Jr. water play area.
Nothing else between the tents and Dumbo/Barnstormer.

I'm hoping they don't add any more permanent structures or attractions as I'd rather see the back half of this area converted into another mini-land someday such as Wonderland.

I agree with you though that something seems to have changed recently, possibly just the normal tweaking that goes on as these type projects become reality.

What strikes me though is the width of the pedestrian path in front of the tents. Wow! Just wondering if that is temporary for construction vehicles or if Disney has something else in mind.

PS- Since this aerial shot I believe the northern most tent has had the exterior removed.

No room. Sorry.

Both roads in the photo are temporary and will be removed when they are no longer needed for crane/construction access.

No. As of two days ago it still looked the same.

Funny I saw a bootlegged photo recently that indicated the tent had been "skinned".

I still think they are making a mistake if they don't take this opportunity to have parades snake through the new FLE instead of routing them through FL and LS. I know it would add to costs but I think it would more than pay off.

As for if there is enough room, the 'pad' seen in the aerials where the two tents currently sit is more than large enough for a new mini-land should they choose someday. Never say never. See 'Horizons'.

Interesting. Link?

It'll never happen. No room nor infrastructure for it, and no financial incentive to do it.

You mean tear down the tents to make a mini land? Possible, of course, but extremely unlikely. The circus is being built to stay.

Bold.

I would have guessed that Mickey's House, being a sort of weenie for Toontown Fair, would have been credited with a fair portion of the County Bounty's success. If part of the point of keeping those tents is to keep that merchandising location, then is nobody concerned that all of Storybook Circus' attractions are clustered at the far southern end of the land?
