April 2010 trip report!

Hey everyone! sorry I couldn't think of a better name for this but welcome to my trip report! I posted a pre-trip report here. the only thing that changed was that we decided to stay at All Star Sports instead. So here we go!

Friday 4/16- We leave for the World! We woke up around 3:00am and took off from Massachusetts. This day was pretty uneventful. We stopped around 7:00pm for the night in South Carolina.

Saturday 4/17- Today we got up around 8am and Hit the road! We arrived in Florida around 2pm. Stopped at the Welcome center, got some O.J., some Florida pamphlets and we were back on the road for another 4 hours to get to my grandparents house.

Sunday 4/18- We sleeped in a little bit today. We ended up checking into the hotel around 1pm. There was no line for check in(I know we were early). We found out that my parents and sisters room was ready but mine and my friends was not. So we decided to unpack our van and just put everything into one room because the other room was going to be next to it. As soon as we parked the van near our building, It begins to DOWNPOUR like if your in the rain for a second you will be soaked. we all grabbed as many bags as we could and brought them to the room that was ready. We hung out in the room for a little bit but 6 people in one value sized room is just a tad tight. so we decided to walk over to the cafe for an early dinner around 4pm. After dinner it was still raining but it wasn't as bad as before. So we said what the hey and went swimming in the rain. We headed back to our rooms(the other one was ready by this time) and got ready for bed. We had a full day at animal kingdom tomorrow!

After we finished up with the characters we went around world showcase at a very relaxing pace. The Flowers looked great this year! I was glad to see some new ones along with some classics.

We also did the Kim Possible Mission in France. We were so excited about this but our excitment turned into frustration and all us kids just got sick of it after awhile.
We continued on. My dad and Sarah were on a quest for turkey legs. They must have stopped at every stand asking for them. And where do they find them? Im good old America! I have a picture of them eating there turkey legs but it's kind of discusting so i'll spare you guys. We were about halfway around now.

We didn't do all the countries but Sarah really wanted to China because that was where she was from. We spent about a half hour in there. We skipped the movie but we tried some chinese candies which were okay. Sarah also bought a Chinese necklace for $20.

After we left china we had to wait for the globe used in illuminations to pass by.

Maelstorm had a 10 minute wait so Sarah, Sam, and I went on. Haley and my mom were eating so they skipped it and my dad wasn't interested. here's us on the ride

We then went to Mexico because Haley likes the ride inside. Once we left it was off to test track which had our longest wait of the day at 75 minutes. Fastpasses were already gone so we had to wait it out. Once we got to the area right before the preshow all the CM's were rude to all the guest. It was probally the worst I had seen the entire week. But we tried to ignore them. We got into our car with Sam, Sarah and me in the front and My mom, Haley, and My dad in the back. Haley and Sarah had never been on before so we stuck them in the middle. Haley was so nervous when the ride started but it didn't last long. At the part where you almost hit the wall before going outside. I could hear her saying to my mom, "Mom we aren't stopping" "we're going to hit the door" but she loved it once we were outside her hands were in the air and everything. she wanted to ride again but my mom told her next trip because we couldn't wait over an hour again.

Next we did Mission Space. Sarah wanted to try and since she had never been on before we did green mode which only had a 5 minute wait. I learned I enjoy orange mode a lot more...
It was now about 6:00 so we headed back over to the land to use up our fast passes for soarin'. We still had about a 20 minute wait with our fastpasses but 20 minutes is a lot better than 60 minutes. We got the bottom level for the first time. I think I like it the best I don't know why But it had a different feeling to it.
Once we left we had a quick bit to eat at sunshine seasons everyone got oriental except my dad, he got some soup and a sandwitch.
Once we got out we headed back over to World showcase to get a good spot for illuminations. It was around 7:30 and everywhere was packed! we found a spot left of a tree so we couldn't see all the fireworks but it had a decent view.

We left the park afterwards. As we were leaving I remembered we didn't do spaceship earth but it was closed now It'll be the first thing we do next time.

4/23 check out day.
Today we were checking out of All-Star but since we weren't leaving Florida until tomorrow, We decided to hang out by the pool. We thought since Today was a grad night, all the high school kids would be gone....WRONG! I wish I took a picture of this but there was a cheerleading competition that day and They were practicing all over the resort! I kid you not they were practicing on the big open football, basketball, and tennis fields. They were also inbetween it was hard to walk anywhere! So we started off by the baseball pool where there was no lifeguard until around 2:00 and not enough chairs so people were sitting on the grass but then guess who came? Yup cheerleaders and they were doing flips RIGHT NEAR YOUR STUFF. But we still had fun. and we had our own gymnist(Haley) Do some stunts in the pool.

We decided to move around 3:00 we started to just wander the resort and take some pictures.

I Do not remember the name sorry:shrug: but it was right past south of the boarder maybe a half hour max. It was in the middle of nowhere. from the hotel all you could see was trees. Sorry I wasn't much help.

Good job on the report! How did you get into the parade?

I literally just stood there and they dragged me in. At first I was like no way but then I thought why not? and got Sam and Sarah to go in with me

No worries! I live in the upstate, that's why I was wondering. But I guess I'd have to know which way y'all went to even begin guessing where it was you stopped and we don't even have to get into all that! LOL
