there are dozens, only a few good

Lines by touringplans.com is far and away the best. it requires a membership above and beyond the app....well worth it

Lines is excellent. You can also use the 'free' version which gives you wait times for select attractions at each park as well as user submitted wait times. The full membership to Touring Plans costs $11 for the year and you get TONS of features, way more than just the wait times.

My vote is for lines, works pretty well and worth the subscription.

If you have Verizon, Mobile Magic is the way to go. It's the official Disney app and is tied directly into the system, so the displayed wait time be accurate. My biggest complaint with it is that it doesn't always seem to refresh and I have to close it out and re-launch it to get an update to the wait times. Also, you must be in the park to get the wait times.

None of them work very well. I've had most of them, even the subscription ones. They are all dependent on user submissions which, to be as nice as possible about it, are erratic. I have even heard that a few people would post fictitious wait times just to mess with people. :( I think that once Disney gets their entire NexGen system up and running we will have far more accurate wait times. It will be able to scan nearly everyone coming in each attraction and be able to give real time data.

I have ATT and I have Mobile Magic. It is decent but not great.

I do have Verizon! I am going to have to download it and check it out!

100% agree... amazing how much 11 bucks gets you.

Lines uses much more than user submissions. Years of historical data, statistical analysis and projections, as well as their team gathering data multiple times daily. Fictitious wait times should not skew their models as they would show outside of the statistical model as outliers.

While nothing is perfect, Lines was the best that I found on my last trip. Mobile Magic was the worst, especially a few times when it couldn't even recognize what park I was in - which made it worthless.

Their optimized personal touring plans made great suggestions too. I could re-optimize them as the day progressed and I modified my plans. Well worth the $11.

We were part of the beta for Mobile Magic in Epcot in 2010. Was pretty nice we were allowed to use a phone for the entire day and test. We found the app to work very well and times were for the most part close. The app was in early stages at that point. Although I have the app now I have not tested since then.

I recently subscribed to Touring Plans and have enjoyed checking wait times. Although I cannot verify if the times are correct the app tends to run better IMO. Its a very simply txt based application with very little eye candy. Although Mobile Magic is "prettier" I think all that makes the app slower. It can also care less about your location. If you are a security freak and dont like sending your location to 3rd parties then Lines may be the better choice.

I gave Mobile Magic a few chances on our trip, and so did my wife, but in the time it took us to find wait times for 1 or 2 different attractions on Mobile Magic, we could have found 10 different wait times on Lines.

Lines is much much faster.

The problem with mobile magic is the wait times are listed as "See now" or "High Demand" or whatever. I want to see the actual time they display on their boards. That cannot be too difficult. I work with a lot of software packages and we sync our live data into mobile apps all the time, not sure why disney can't do that too.

They do! but only if they detect that you are in that park.

Another vote for Lines, great app. I like that it splits out its estimates from actual reported times so you can see both. I always try to contribute wait times when I'm in the parks.
