Applying for WDI Internship and the Toxicity of a Certain subreddit

I decided to try and get feedback on my Imagineering oriented resume (I have a contact there and I might get to intern there) on the reddit version of this sub-forum--I did screw up on parts of my resume, mainly that I put too many activities from high school on it because it was a slightly modified version of my resume for applying to college, but people on the subreddit were so mean and direct. There was one industry professional who was nice, and actually praised my work experience, another (an ex imagineer who was in art) said it was worthless, and patronized me. What's their problem? Are most real imagineers this rude? The armchair imagineers here actually behave themselves.

I'm sorry you went through that. They were probably just jealous and felt threatened by someone younger and more talented.

Screw them!
Thank you! You're a good person. I needed that. I just wanted some help with my resume, and I tried to emphasize that I am knowledgeable regarding the industry, even though I am just applying for a producer position which is not the most creative position there is-but most of my work experience has been in managing personalities, organizing, and marketing (which is why I could work for marketing at the studios and/or parks). My first job was in high school as a salesperson for a tech company in China.

Why I oughta. Screw those who try to put you down without saying anything to help you.

While parts of my resume needed revision and help, they did not have to come down on me that hard. On a lighter note, I look forward to competing in the one sentence competition next week!

A lot of the Theme Park Design personalities are pretty dependant on if they're from a California or Florida branch or how close they are to the actual construction of the project or more of an office role. But I haven't heard of anyone..... Face-forward rude as it seems you have on Reddit?

My guess is reddit haters gonna hate. 🤣

Personally, if I was looking for more Imagineering oriented resume, I'd hit up IAPPA and TEA as a resource, as well as dependant on the role, maybe a professinal organization for that niche.
