Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I normally stay in the news board tho, and only recently found out about the international program! I WANNA GO!

I sent an email to the recruiters and got this one back :

Thank you for your interest in the Walt Disney World TM International Programs!

These programs offer entry-level, practical training opportunities for individuals who are preparing for careers in Hospitality, Tourism or Leisure Management. Through on the job exposure to high volume Resort or Theme Park operations, participants learn how the Walt Disney World Resort maintains its position as a leader in the Hospitality and Entertainment Industries.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and authentically represent the culture and customs of their own country. These programs offer unique working, living, and learning experiences for one year. If you are successful you will be eligible for a visa for this period only. We are looking to start these programs anytime from March 2005.

If you are still interested, please post us your up-to-date CV to the address below with a main contact number that you can be reached on and a recent passport sized photo. You can expect an answer from Yummy Jobs up to 8-10 weeks after we receive your information. We hold final interviews both in November and February each year.

We look forward to the opportunity to consider you for the Walt
Disney World TM International Programs.

I have a couple of questions. I hope you guys can help!

individuals who are preparing for careers in Hospitality, Tourism or Leisure Management

Do you think it matters that this isnt me? Should I pretend it IS me? I just want to work at Epcot as a "year out" kinda thing, with a view to coming back and continuing University when i've done it, eventually want to work with computers! (Software Engineering)

We are looking to start these programs anytime from March 2005.

"Anytime from"? Does this mean they have as many as they need until then, but I could start in say, August?

Thanks for any help you can give!!!

[edit] and someone please make my topic right! THANK YOU!!![/edit]

It doesn´t matter if you are not studying Tourism, but they are looking for people who are willing to share their culture with others so that´s why they need someone who understands that part. Believe me, you will be in constant contact with people from different cultures, so it´s better if you are aware and willing to share yours with them. That´s basically what it is and that you are not afraid of being in public and talking to strangers, which is part of the profile of a person who studies Tourism.

About the March 2005 remark, I´m pretty sure it´s what you think. They already have the people for this year´s arrivals and will fill up positions to start after March 2005. Coming to think about it, if interviews are in the Fall, there won´t be time to prepare arrivals for this year. Before you notice it, it will be 2005. Be patient. :animwink:

Welcome to the forums and good luck!

I know this might be a little off topic, but does anybody know what's the difference between Disneyland College Program and WDW CP? I know Disneyland's is just for the summer but I don't know about WDW's.

I didn't know DL still did there. Most people I have talked to say no.

But here in Orlando the CP is usually for about half a year (semester of school) and there are the adv programs where you can come during the summer months as well. Both programs allow you to stay if you are in good standing and so forth with housing and the company.

Is he college program for if you want to work at WDW as a cm? or can you just become a CM without going to the program? What does this program teach?

Well, if you are studying College and want to take a time off from school, then apply for the College Program. If you are not studying and want something more permanent, check with Casting and apply to become a CM in any of the positions available.
