When I call and speak with a cast member at reservations, how should I ask about the passholder rates? Every time I've called and asked the person on the other end tells me there aren't any discounts - yet when I go online, I can get discounts for the same time frame.:veryconfu

Maybe I've just had a string of bad luck talking to people.

You have to give them the code.

The code does help, but it depends who you are talking with. I'm almost sure I didn't give the code when I was on this morning. I just said I have an existing reservation and I'm calling to see if the AP discount for that time period is a better deal for me. They told me to hold on, came back on the line and told me my rate went down about $24 night including tax. I already had a lower rate through AAA. She gave me the new rate, the new total, the balance due on arrival, and said I would get a confirmation in the mail, and would need the AP when I checked in. It was as simple as that.

I got off the phone and I was like, I don't think I ever gave her the code. So you don't always need it.

I didn't give a code either. I just told him that I was an AP holder and had an existing reservation and gave him the number and that I heard new AP rates just came out.

I called and told "Penelope" that I would like to apply code FCB to my existing reservation and she did it. No mention of showing my AP at check-in. :veryconfu

I managed to save $40/night at POFQ.

It seems that you can never get the same answer from two cast members. I was told in the past, and again this morning, that they can't just apply the code to an existing reservation. They have always told me that they have to create a new reservation with the discount code and discount rate and then cancel the old reservation. No big deal in the end. However, they have to charge a new deposit and then you have to wait for the old deposit to be refunded. The only thing that bothers me is that the new charge usually posts to my credit card before the refund is credited back. The hassle is well worth the savings of basically getting one night free!

Ap Code

We had an existing reservation starting November 28 at WL for 4 nights, and I called with the code and there was nothing at all available at WL with the code. So I switched to The Contemporary and ended up paying just as much as the regular WL rate, but saved almost $100 a night with the code compared to the regular Contemporary rate. I could have just stayed with the ressie at WL, but with an AP, it irritates me to pay full price!! For those of you still waiting to get through, she offered me AKL for $134 night regular view and $216 Savannah, and $99 at POFQ. Good luck. By the way, I was only on hold about 20 minutes, and thanks to the earlier post, I used the 800 number.

There's a code for values from 10/1 - 10/4 (on Mousesavers) FBZ - it's $20 off a night - I had reservations for 10/1 through 10/6 and they gave me the same rate for all nights. I made it on line - says you have to show your annual pass when you arrive.

I called and cancelled my previous reservation - took me 17 minutes (including "hold" time) plus I changed a few other things (flights for ME and dining reservations) so it went fast. The CM said it's been REALLY busy.

Wow! I have NEVER heard of that! I have had an AP code to my existing ressie MANY times and never have I had a deposit refunded and new charge applied - it always just transfers over. In fact that is what I did today - had three rooms at PORS and the code was applied and new balance given to me.

Yes, I just saw a different code on Mousesavers also. FBZ It offers $75 off of deluxe, which is what we changed our reservation to from Pop Century. We just told them that we were AP holders, never mentioned either code.

I had reserved a room at the contemporary for a december trip earlier this year, hoping that I could switch to an AP room rate when they were available. I tried to get AP rates at 9AM this morning, from the 6th-11th of Dec, but they had none available for that time. After the CM did some looking around, he found a Savannah view AP room at the AKL for a much better price than what I was going to pay for my tower room at the Contemporary.
Yeah I lost out the prime location... but I am saving hundreds from what I would've paid. I was really surprised how early these Deluxe resorts book up in general for what is supposed to be a lower attendance time of the year.

Nothing for us yet, so far our check in date on 12/25 is blocked out, which has historically been the last day for any AP discount.

I just got ours for Wilderness Lodge, courtyard view, 12/22-12/31. :sohappy: Cheaper than our existing Caribbean Beach reservations.

Just got a ressie from 12/23-12/25 at the WL for $301 total! Not bad considering I paid $250 a night last October-November. So, not only did I save $100 a night from last October's rates, now I get to save $100 a night at my favorite resort during Xmas!!! My kids are going to flip. It's nice to play Santa. :xmas:

I was curious about that (cheaper for WL than CBR). We currently have ressies for POFQ and assuming a general public discount is offered, what are the possibilities of moving up to a cheaper deluxe for the same or little difference?

Any suggestions?

Okay I just went to disney.com and figured out why a deluxe standard view would be cheaper than our current moderate.:hammer: Now my question is why would the entire pkg (room, tix, dining plan) $200 more than our current ressie if it includes the same stuff? Am I missing something? :veryconfu

Aaa

I had already booked my October trip through AAA in case there was not a AP discount. When I called in today with the code, the agent told me she couldn't get it to apply. She said the code wasn't working yet. Anyone else have any problems with AAA? Any suggestions?
