AP room discount ?

Living in Indiana we have never had the chance to be AP holders. This year was different as we ended up spending about 17 days at Disney, so it made sense. Here is my question. Our passes expire in April and we will not be renewing. We are planning a trip in June. Can I use the AP discount now and book it, knowing that in June I will not have my AP anymore? I know these three times we've been this year, when we checkin, etc., we never have to show our passes. Thanks, the discount is just a little better than the general discount.
Also, I know the discounts are only going on through April right now, just wondering if the situation would come up.

I'm pretty sure they've asked me when my AP had expired. I know they don't if there's a valid AP associated with your name in the system.

If you book room-only, check for General Public discounts and apply them. If you apply an AP discount and they decide you're not eligible, you'll be charged full rack rate [or forced to buy at least on AP]. The GP discounts run slightly less than AP discounts, but are still pretty good.

Back when I used to get an AP on a regular basis (bought one every-other-year for about 8 years), I was asked to show my AP at check-in about 50% of the time.
