AP renewals will not be allowed

Judging by the availability calendar and the lawsuit they drastically oversold them.

The (DL) parks feel as busy as they did before covid, and rumor is they are now back to 100% pre Covid occupancy, so the big question is how long will this demand last. Is this still restless people spending all the money they saved over the last couple years of staying home or is this permanent demand and “sold out” is just something we need to get used to now?
Sounds like based on the availability calendar they sold as many as they comfortably could and if fans continue to pay up and still deal with reservations, they hit the sweet spot.

I wish reservations would just go away in general.

I know quite a few Vegas people (us included) who aren’t renewing because of the reservations difficulty but most my LA friends sound like they will.

This seems opposite their goal, they want higher spending guests but have created a pass that is driving away out of state visitors who need hotels, eat on property, and come less often. Makes no sense. The APs were great for everyone, the Keys are only advantageous for locals who can come last second. Exactly the opposite of what they want.

They re annoying but I have always got a day I wanted by just baby sitting the site for 10-20 minutes. This includes mostly Saturdays, Sundays and even includes the Friday the Spectaculars came back. Most of the time it doesn’t come to this as I have the dates I want secured in advance. I understand this is not convenient for folks coming out of town and have to make hotel arrangements.

I think the only thing they need to fine tune is how to respond to the demand for the holidays. Other than that everything seemed reasonable. Also wonder what happens when young children of a family of Key holders become older and require a pass? Would they force my whole family to downgrade or would they make an exception.
Previously they have made exceptions and allowed children of age and even adoptions obtain a Sold Out Pass to coincide with the rest of the family. This was in regards to the So Cal Pass that they no longer Sold but allowed to be renewed each year.

Assuming it’s the same on both coasts, newly eligible family members should be able to get the same pass. That’s my understanding at WDW. If we keep our passes and the baby hits 3yo we should be able to get her a pass too. But I sure hope they’ve fixed all this nonsense by then. She’s just about to turn 1…

Good to know! Thank you. My daughter doesn’t turn 3 for a year and 5 months so we have some time. I was just wondering if they made those exceptions. I’ll still probably give them a call if and when I renew just in case that policy has changed. Or I’ll just keep getting my daughter in for free until she’s 5 since she’s so petite. Their choice.
