AP...can someone refresh my memory?

2012 and 2013 were my first times using an AP. We activated our AP on the 2nd day of our 2012 trip and it expired the day that we checked out of our hotel on our 2013 trip. But since we only ate breakfast at the hotel, then loaded up and left for home that day, I did not have the need to see if I could have gotten into the park on that day.

Tentatively, I am thinking about planning our next two spring trips (June 2014 and May/June 2015 and hopefully a short Christmas 2014 trip in between) such that the AP will expire on our last day of our 2015 trip. But in this case, it would be our last FULL day (our last day in the parks) and not checkout day. The way I have it tentatively planned is that we would activate the annual pass on June 4, 2014, and the last full day of our 2015 trip would be June 4 as well.

This leads me to the main question of this thread. I think it has been answered before, but I can't remember for sure and I just want to double check in case I need to re-plan accordingly. If the AP expires on June 4, 2015, does that mean that it is good on June 3, then when the clock strikes midnight, it is now expired because it is June 4? Or does it mean that it is good all day on June 4, expiring at midnight as it goes into June 5?

If the pass expires June 4, 2015 then it is valid on June 4. However if you are activating it on June 4, 2014, then your last day would be June 3, 2015, if I remember correctly. The ticket is valid for 365 days from first use. June 4th of the following year is day 366.

I activated our APs on April 13, 2012,and they expired April 13 2013. I seem to remember that someone told me once that they make APs good for 366 days to take into account the leap years.

To clarify the above posts, your AP *includes* the date in the second year.

So my AP, which I bought on Nov 9th, 2012 would give me entry on Nov 9th, 2013 if I happened to be in WDW on that day.

And this has nothing to do with Leap Years. It's the rule regardless of whether either year or neither of the years is a Leap Year.

It's AP renewals where you lose that "extra day" feature. (The expiration day stays exactly the same, they just advance the year by one)

They will hand write the expiration date on your pass. It is good until the end of that day.

My expiration date was printed on my pass.

You have the old, paper pass there. The new ones are plastic and they hand-write the expiration date on them. :)

I guess they are now writing names on them, too. When I got mine, you just signed it.

When I first got my very first AP back in 1995 they were the hard plastic type like the new ones and you got your picture on them :)
