AP and AAA Rate Questions

We are staying at the AKL (3 nights) and the Poly (7 nights) in the beginning of May. The AKL was booked as a room only. The Poly was originally booked as a package (included length of stay passes). However, I have subsequently canceled the LOS pass aspect of the package. But, technically, I still have a package for the Poly. I would have canceled the package and converted it to a room only, but then I would I have lost my travel insurance :brick:

Here are my questions:

1. We recently got AAA. When I called reservations, they applied the AAA discount to the AKL, but said it was unavailable for the Poly. I asked why I could not get the discount for the Poly and was told that it was not available at that time but that I should call back periodically to see if it becomes available. I specifically asked whether the discount was unavailable because the Poly was still booked as a package. I was told it did not matter. Does this sound right? If it makes a difference, we are staying in the concierge building.

2. Like everyone else, I am waiting for the AP rates to come out. I asked reservations whether I would be able to apply the AP rates when they come out (assuming they are applicable) and was told "no problem". Does this sound right? Lets assume that the AP rates come out after I make the payment (which is March 20). Will I be able to apply the rates.

Thanks so much.

Hey, I am a former NJ resident (Woodbridge Township) and now live outside Memphis, TN. Right now there are NO Annual Pass discounts being offered for any of the resorts past the middle of April. I would expect for Disney to announce a new round of discounts very soon. At that point Disney will honor and change the rates to whatever is being offered (there is no way of knowing if they will offer a discount at either AKL or Poly until they announce the discounts).

Keep in mind that you must have the Annual Pass in your possession when you check-in. I've been told that they will accept the AP Voucher as well but I would call Guest Services at the resorts you are planning to stay and NOT the 800 number to verify this. A good place to keep up on latest breaking news on ticket prices is mousesavers.com.

Hi there, as far as discounts, they are very tricky little things!! If you pay off the entire cost of you package I dont believe that they will apply any discount to it once the final payment has been made. I dont think it would matter for the AAA discount as to if you jut booked a room or a package. Discounts are only given for so many rooms out of the total number of rooms available at a resort during any given time frame. If rooms arent seeling out, Marketing ( Not CRO so dont yell at the people on the phone!) may choose to release more rooms into the discount at different times, which is why you were told to try back. That is always a good suggestion.
As far as AP discounts, I am waiting on the next round myself!! If anyone hears anything please post it so we can all take advantage!!!
Hope this helps!! Belle
