Hi!

I am using aol7 on windows xp, and i have loads of problems with this site since I upgraded from 6 to 7.

I cannot post.............when I press submit, it just says the website is not responding - it doesnt work when i try it in IE 6. I have to disconnect from aol and dial up another internet service, then access the site from ie6. then it works. But the calls to that service are charged at local rate, whereas the aol calls are free.

Also, when i try to view the site in aol, the pages go all funny :veryconfu

its really weird!

help!!!!

thanks in advance
:)

I have no problem at home using AOL 7/56k modem, but at work we use AOL6/DSL and I experience several of the same problems. My guess would be not to upgrade to AOL 8 just to save yourself a headache.

Yup, AOl is constantly messing me around on here.

No polls, pages going funny, constantly crashing, signing me out.

I'm using AOL 6 on XP, because when ever i try to use 7, it crashes my computer! :brick:

I am SOOO glad I got rid of AOL. Word of warning when you call to cancel it............they are mean and nasty and try to sell you the moon!

..when I had AOL, I downloaded IE as a stand alone program. I would then sign on to AOL, minimize it, and then open IE directly.

I hardly ever used AOL's version of the IE browser.

Tell me about it!! I installed one of those free cds that give you free AOL for two months... I signed in, gave my cc number to get the months for free without compromise. Then, the program messed up with my windows xp and had to take my laptop to the care center. They got rid of it. When I called to cancel it before the two months expired, they told me I had been charged already because they charged days before the trial expired! I was furious! After talking to three persons that night, I finally got some guy on the phone who was nice and assured me that my cc was not charged.

The following day, I received a note from the bank telling me that some internet company had tried to charge me and the bank didn´t accept the charges, and was waiting for "orders" from me. OF course, I cancelled my cc and got a new number. :D I got lucky then... pheeew!

Yeah, it keeps on telling me that 6.0 isn't compatible with XP, but to get 7.0 working they want me to call their expensive helplines.

So i told them to get lost.

I've got so many AOL CD's, I get those things in the mail with everything, can't you use one of those?
