We are staying in a Lion King suite 12/10-12/15. Anything specific we should know/see/do? Any special items in the food court that should not be skipped? This is our first trip not staying at POR or POFQ.

We have stayed at AOA twice...Finding Nemo two years ago, and Lion King last year...we are staying in Cars this November. IMHO, AOA is the BEST themed resort on property!! A few things...there is no pool at LK, but the Nemo pool is just a short walk away & is centrally located in the center of the resort. The pool has speakers under the water, so you can listen while you're under the water. Some people complain that it's a long walk from the buildings to the food and the bus stops, but we have not found it to be a problem unless you're staying at the Little Mermaid rooms, which ARE the furthest from the main building.

The bus service is excellent...I would STRONGLY urge you to take a walk around the complete resort and check everything out...AND, if you're so inclined, you can take a stroll over the Hourglass Lake Bridge into Pop Century, which also has a very good cafeteria.

If you're a Disney kid at heart, you will LOVE it...tons of kids, and you are TOTALLY immersed in all things Disney. ENJOY!!!

I didn't think about walking to Pop Century to dine. Thanks for the idea!

I really enjoy the lobby of AOA. Take time to look at all of the concept art and the chandelier and explore all sections of the resort- there are so many details! Also, the daily drawing class taught by a Disney artist is a really fun activity if you want to learn how to draw your favorite Disney characters.

Hankster - you have the exact same avatar pictures that I have - well had. I had to change mine because I kept thinking I was writing posts I don't remember making LOL :D I'm like, "I was never going to stay at AoA, why would I write that post???" Hahahhaha.

Like the others said-take some time to walk around and see all the resort. My favorite section is Nemo but we enjoyed Lion King as well. Go to the Cars section and look at everything there. And have to agree with the stroll over to Pop. I like the food for something different.
