AoA Pool

So guys I was wondering can guests of POFQ visit AoA and use their pool? I am visiting in 10 days and I know that we can use all the other value pools but upon reading the review from the opening it sounds like there is a special key! Also I take it the guests do not benefit from free dining at this resort then? Kind of wishing we could stay there now ............. is it too late to change my booking? lol

But Crush I heard that POFQ and POR guests could use the value pools??????

No. The problem is that each pool at the resorts is sized for capacity to work with the number of guests in that resort. If people start to use the pools from other resorts, it increases the load on that pool, and it then becomes overcrowded. If you want to use a particular pool, you should book a stay at that resort.

Hi Claire, The POR and POFQ resorts are fairly unique in that while you are staying at either one you can use the pools and amenities at both resorts as they are sister resorts. The only other resorts that have this kind of arrangement is the Yacht Club and the Beach Club which share Stormalong Bay the main pool. As WDWMagic said the pools and activities at each resort are specifically designed to handle the number of people that are staying at that particular resort. I happen to love the Port Orleans Complex and think you will have an amazing time!!! Marie

To answer the other part of your question. AoA wasn't included in the First release of the Free Dining for Aug & Sept. However a month or so after the promo was out they opened it up so AoA guest could get Free Dining. So you never know

Honestly Claire, if you have enough energy to pool hop, you aren't spending enough time in the parks! You will love both the main pool at PORS and the pool at POFQ. Besides, you will have the AoA pool to look forward to for your next visit. We stay at the Wilderness Lodge and I still like the PORS main pool better. Have a great vacation!

I think the OP's confusion is based on mis-interpreting what was probably said about "sister-resorts" and pool hopping.

There is no pool hopping allowed at Disney resort (I'm ignoring the DVC Member rules, which is an entirely different discussion), but generally it *is* allowed among "sister resorts". That means Riverside and French Quarter and free to use each others pools, and the three All-Star Resorts are free to use any of the other All-Stars' pools.

But that does *not* mean that POR and POFQ can hop to the All-Stars. They're not one large group of sister-resorts, just within their particular grouping.

And while the two halves of Pop Century would have been considered sister-resorts if both halves had been built as designed, Pop Century and AoA are two separate resorts and are not considered "sisters".

As for the food court, you should be free to visit it and buy food there, just like you can go to the restaurant of any Disney hotel and eat there.

When I last checked with my Walt Disney travel company contacts, they said that they will allow sharing of facilities, including pools, between Pop and aoa. This was April 23.

Of course she said it was always subject to change.
