Anyone who has done the 7 day land/sea package

We are looking at doing one of the land and sea packages next year, probably sometimes around May before hurricane season cranks up. Is this a good time to go or should we maybe do it earlier in the year or wait later? Are the ships usually pretty packed at this time of year?

As far as cruises go, IMO, October would be the BEST month. I have heard also that it is one of the least busy months. Unfortunately, WDW may be busy bc of MNSSHP and EPCOT's Food and Wine. November is pretty good also. Maybe the beginning bc there aren't too many vacationers until closer to Thanksgiving. It's still warm (or even HOT sometimes), but it's not swealtering. The humidity is lower and more pleasant.

Actually, May is a pretty good time to go, but I'd recommend going either the 1st or 2nd week because once schools get out, it gets not only packed, but more expensive. The seas are usually calmer than during hurricane season, plus you'll have the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival going on at WDW. Going in April would have the same benefits as long as you avoid Easter if crowds are a concern.

The ships are pretty much full every trip. So crowding there isn't an issue, it's always the same and not noticeably crowded despite being full.

The parks are a different story. We did the Land and Sea in February and it was wonderful in the parks.

As Monty said, ships have a limited number of rooms and beds, so unlike the parks they are never overcrowded. You have assigned spaces for dinner so you don't have the queueing that you love so much in the parks.

You'll have a great time. Be sure to pick up a planning book, because, especially for the first time, there are a whole new set of rules and tricks to learn, like getting your Palo reservation, scheduling massages etc.

Thanks for the info, everyone. Just found out last night that there will be another couple going with us, so it will probably be around the first week of May, as to fit into everyone's schedule. thanks again.

Make sure your reservations are linked so that you get seated with them (unless you prefer time on your own that is...)

Keep in mind you'll have tons more flexibility and save some money by booking your land and sea packages separately.
