Anyone watching The Mysterious Benedict Society?

I am - I think it's great!

Normally I don't actually watch Disney series targeted to kids, but this caught my eye.
I think it's smart, funny, great characters and best of all, the child actors don't annoy me! šŸ˜‚

Based on this show, I think I might try Secret of Sulphur Springs.

I enjoyed sulphur Springs. The first episode of this I found pretty bad. Sometimes I find I need to get through the first couple episodes before I can evaluate a show but this one was a pretty bad start for me that it might be enough not to continue.

Oh that's so funny! The first episode really grabbed me!

I'm trying Sulphur Springs in a little bit.

We watched it over the weekend and enjoyed it. I liked that the characters are just "normal" but skilled as opposed to having "super powers". I feel like a lot of D+ shows have got the powers or magic route (understandable with Marvel content, but things like Flora & Ulysses or Second Born Royals).

Sulphur Springs was more creepy but also interesting. So far I like this offering better, but I tend to like off beat humor and weird retro aesthetics.

Episode 5, the scene with Constance and they used Shiloh by Neil Diamond as the soundtrack - perfection.
Seriously.

I'm watching this and enjoying it. None of the typical Disney-channel content appeals to me, but this has been an exception.

It's obviously sharing some trappings with Netflix's take on a Series of Unfortunate Events.

Plus my parents lived off the Howe Sound for a couple years and it's kind of fun that a lot of it is filmed randomly in Porteau Cove (where we'd boat to their place from) and with Anvil Island that their place looked towards.

I didn't like it quite as much, but Secrets of Sulphur Springs was somewhat similar if you wanted to check it out.

Does anyone else feel like they were watching a Wes Anderson film with this series?

Edit: Just looked through the thread and realized Sulphur Springs was mentioned a couple of times already, including by me. šŸ¤Ŗ

Very much!!! Especially Moonrise Kingdom and The Grand Budapest Hotel (one of my favorite movies not just of his, but of all time)!

I donā€™t know if Wes Anderson is his own genre yet, but certainly his idiosyncrasy is at play. There seems to be a lot of series that borrow heavily from his look. I mentioned a series of unfortunate events too.

I donā€™t think itā€™s coincidence that it was developed under Fox.

I watch it, I thought it was an interesting premise and well crafted storytelling from week-to-week. I never read the books, so this was my first experience in this world.

I hope it gets a season 2....

Not really surprised but disappointed given that they teased another season. I donā€™t think the series ever really did much in terms of viewership.
