Anyone switch with the new phone # portability in effect?

Hi all frustrated Cell phone users :wave:

Anybody make the switch to another company... and keep there phone number yet? If so, how was the transition? and How long did it take them to port your orig number to your new phone/company?

I am dumping Sprint PCS/vison, next week, like a hot rock, after over 3 years of crappy service from them... I am switching to T-Mobile and I just ordered there Pocket PC phone. Its co cool!

And I get to keep my downtown Chicago Number!!! YAY! :sohappy: :sohappy:

Anyway with Sprint.. I could NEVER get a decent signal near my house... or anywhere in Metro Chicagoland, period!!!, but when I went to St. Louis this summer... that is the best and strongest signal I ever got from sprint...lol go figure. :hammer:



Anyone dump there land line yet, to?

I actually dumped my land line a few years ago... cause I have the broadband internet connection here at home, so all I needed was the cell.

once my ordeal with Sprint PCS and the FCC ends I'll be switching to Cingular....

I was so pi$$ed off with Sprint last year... I payed the $200 to "get out of my contract" fee.. then....they gave me like 6mos free to stay with them...lol Ugh... not this time though... I am gone. Buh-Bye Sprint :lol: :wave:

Ok.. I need to rant... figures.. as soon as I get my phone ... Deutsche Telecom (aka T-Mobile Germany) has came out with version 2 of my phone :lol: Which means it will be over here in the states very soon.

This is why I hate buying technology... cause its outdated ...not even 6mos after you get it. I am getting old. :lol:

On a happier note though.. T-Mobile IS giving me Windows Pocket PC Phone Edition 2003 software... FOR FREE to replace my 2002 PDA Phone software. :sohappy: :sohappy:

OK Ima phone idiot. Can you use that phone like a computer? To actually surf the net and get all the rich content? :shock: You can install software? Can you save files to it? Is there an extra charge if you surfed the web alot?

Yep... you can open/save Excel files, Word Documents, Mp3s, windows media files (video and music... I have about 50mb of music on my memory card right now) Can surf the web like any other computer (not watered down "mobile" sites... but FULL web sites like the forums here, and the main www.wdwmagic.com site )... It has AIM, and MSN messenger, Outlook... and a bunch more things.

You can make ringers out of any .wav file... so, I made a bunch of Christmas Themed rings last month :lol:

You can make your own wallpaper... the photo in my avatar is my current wallpaper on the Pocket PC to.

I pay a flat fee for data a month... $19.99 (T-mobile) a month for unlimited data transfer/web browsing/Instant messages... anytime... anywhere, ( as long as I get signal... which, its hard NOT to get a SOLID t-mobile signal in Metro Chicagoland). I can also access any VPN (Virtual Private Network) if need be :wave:
