Anyone noticed all the lights bulbs out on GF and the Contemporary?

Lighting isn't just a problem for the Contemporary. When I was at Epcot on December 4, the Japan Pavilion outside was about completely dark with worse lighting over there than rest of the time before illuminations. It looked like TDO forgot to pay the electric bill for the outside lights for the Japan Pavilion.
I think that might be by design. From what I remember the Japan pavilion has always been somewhat dimly lit.

There are indeed many lights out, however they should(and probably will) be replaced with all the resort rennovations coming along.

Now lets talk about the main street of Hollywood Studios if you wanna talk about a lot of neon lights out.

In DHS's defense, it's much easier to screw in a new light bulb than to repair blown/broken/burned out neon.

That is true, but happened in December 4th for nighttime was worse than normal over there.

The area in Japan pavilion on December 4th for nighttime didn't have all the lights on outside that usually does that makes the pavilion somewhat dimly lit.

When I went back to Japan pavilion at the same time at night a couple night later on December 6th, the pavilion had better lighting some night despite being somewhat dimly lit.

The problem with all the tarps up is that it's for work that could be done for overnight if they were willing to spend the money. 15-20 years ago, they got work done on Main Street that quickly. They just don't want to spend the money anymore.

The work currently being done on Main Street was not done 15-20 years ago. This is not simple repainting. In many cases the work going on now is full facade replacement for 40 year old buildings. The work COULD NOT be done overnight.

Can opinion be expressed here without devolving into hyperbole and overstatement?

It's one thing to express disappointment or highlights areas of improvement. It's another to call for the job of the VP of the parks over lightbulbs.

Of course, I'm sure the OP registered his complaint with the hotel before he left so that the company actually knows their slipping maintenance standards affected his enjoyment, because it would be irrational to expect the VP of a company to step down for an issue one didn't even bring up to the first level of guest service.

Right?

Are you serious? Crofton is responsible for everything at the parks. You just don't get it, if you saw the amount of lights out you would have thought you were at six flags or fun world or something. Im going tomorrow hopefully I'll get some pictures for you.

What white lights on the Contemporary? I didn't think it was outlined like the GF.

Also, the tarps were refurbishing the Main Street buildings. That's a bad thing?

The only way that this would be bad is if Disney chose to use the tarps of the Main Street Buildings instead, and tear the buildings behind the tarps down. All the shops would be in large trailers, but look the same! NOW THAT WOULD BE A BAD THING!:ROFLOL:

But seriously, how long are the MS refurbishments gonna take? Will they be done completely by 2012? Anyone know any info?

Lolz, people actually go to Disney World to complain about burnt out lights? Is that the new multi-million dollar attraction that I have yet to experience?

Seriously?

Seriously?

No, seriously?

She's responsible for ensuring someone else gets the work done.

Unfortunately, holding her accountable for the myriad of circumstances surrounding the replacement of lightbulbs is a bit of an outlier.....

In response to the darkness at Epcot near Japan, we were there last week and both my friend and I were wondering why it was so dark. We were literally walking into other people. There are either lights out, or they're turning them off on purpose.

exactlly so shes accountable because the person she interviewed or hired isn't getting the job done. the blame always falls on the people who oversee everything.
