Anyone notice that Brer Fox changes what he says in Splash Mountain?

I rode this a few times last week and noticed that near the end.. the big drop.. Brer Fox sometimes says that to Brer Rabit that he might have to HANG YA.. and other times at the same point he says he might have to ROAST YA??

I love splash mountain.. there are so many little details that you can notice each time like this. Anyone else notice it?

Yeah, he threatens Brer Rabbit different ways in the actual story, but is convinced to chuck Brer Rabbit in the Briar Patch from his pleas not too. That and it gives it a sort of unique edge to each ride through.

I never understood. If he wants to eat him why would he throw him into the Briar Patch. Wouldn't that make him hard to get to?

Brer Rabbit keeps saying to him that what ever he's going to do to him to kill him wouldn't be as bad as throwing him in the Briar Patch. His intent is to kill him, not to eat him. Or at least that's the way the tale goes, but the ride doesn't really stick to it..

Yeah, in fact just for fun my girlfriend and I often place "bets" on what he is going to say. The three different methods for killing poor Brer Rabbit are "skin" "roast" and "hang". Happy betting :hammer:

So why does he want to kill him. I just assumed he wanted to eat him. Just wanting to kill him is kind of freaky. :lookaroun

I'm not sure if it's supposed to be Brer Fox or Brer Bear that throws Rabbit into the Briar Patch. I've always assumed it's Brer Bear, because that's why you hear his voice saying "Briar Patch?" just as you crest the top of the hill. Also, Brer Bear is the more dim-witted one and would easily be tricked into doing this. It's because the Briar Patch is Brer Rabbit's home that he tricked them into tossing him in there.

As far as I know, there's only ever been Brer Fox's shadow at the top of the lift hill. The animatronic of him is at the bottom.

As for the rotating phrases, I think the hopping Brer Rabbit also says a couple different things (when he's working that is...)

I remember watching Song of the South Yeeeears ago.

Here's what happens. Brer Fox finally catches brer Rabbit using the Tar baby. He and Brer Bear are indeed going to cook and eat B.R. Now from what I remember B. F. is talking about how he should go about killing and coking B.R. and B.R. comes up with teh idea of being thrown in teh Briar Patch, and makes it like it'd be the worst thing ever. B.B. I believe thinks this is a pretty sweet idea and says "Briar Patch" to himself, he then chucks B.R. in the briar patch who pretends to make dying noises and then laughs at them...
I think that's what happened. I was about 5 or 6 when i saw it last though lol
