If I could get my hands on it I would check for sure. It would interesting to see if you could salvage the photos and then even make attempts to locate the owner.
If it's a cannon sure shot,I had one stolen in Downtown Disney 4 yrs ago.All I wanted was the disc as it was stolen the day before We went Home.Someone please take it out of the moat.Even if it isn't mine,the owner would be grateful.I was devastated when it happened to me and often wondered how that person could live with the self.
It's in the area coming out of tomorrow land on castle side. It's pretty far down to reach.

Makes sense...Sometimes leaving Tomorrowland, I want to through my camera in the moat.

Apropos repeat tip of the day. Have a picture with your contact information on the camera. Something as simple as a pic of you holding up a card with your cell phone number on it. Just make sure the info is legible on the camera's screen.
What I like to do is type up my info on my PC, full screen it, and take a picture of that. Then I set the lock on the picture so I don't accidentally delete it. Doesn't stop someone else from deleting it, just prevents me from doing it during mad mass deletion sessions.

It wouldn't surprise me if Disney trys to locate owner given they can get any data off it at all...those lost/found people are incredible...I will never stop singing their praises after the two times they saved the day for me or people I know.

That's not a bad tip! We may have to do something like this on our next trip.
On a side note (not WDW related, but related to the topic) when we were in San Antonio on the Riverwalk, we saw a group of teenage girls that had dropped their camera into the canal. The canal is not deep (part of the safety lecture on the tour boat is that "if you fall overboard, please just kindly stand up, and we'll come pick you up
) so they were trying to fish the camera out, and two of them nearly fell in. It was quite the sight, but they were able to retrieve the camera in short order.

Yes and I also like to take pictures of my Credit Card numbers just in case.

Or that people would not throw stuff into them. It is amazing when you walk by the bridges and people stand there and throw money, food and other things into them. I know some things can be dropped accidently, but I'm sure too many items are thrown into them on purpose.
