Anyone know about the ride systems for barnstormer and dumbo?

Hey, I was wondering since Disney is cheap, will they change the ride system up at all. Maybe add track to barnstormer or make dumbo more like carpets? The concept drawing looks like the Goofini is tall! Is this just inaccurate or what? (Lee) help me please

Barnstormer is already a popular attraction in its current form among families with little children. They aren't going to be changing anything except for the theming around the coaster.

Very true. I rode it this past December since it was "going away" and was surprised how long the line was for this ride. But the line was made up of mostly the group you mention.

Again it's not about the lines it's about the load times that tells if an attraction is popular. The barnstormer has one train that loads like 14 people it has an incredibly slow occupancy per hour. It can't be more then 400 an hour, I bet.

A lot of people see this as a first rollercoaster experience for little kids. It's not meant to be a thrill ride, just a family attraction. I think it accomplishes it's job pretty well.

Load time doesn't tell if an attraction is popular. Actually to get where you're going, it would be a combination of load time and wait time that would give an accurate look at how popular the ride is. But anyway, I assure you that the ride is popular among the demographic that it was built to entertain.

Barnstormer can run two trains, and it does so on days where crowds (and operational ability) warrant it. With an efficient platform crew, they can load one train while the other is out on the track, and have it ready to dispatch when the first train gets to the brake run.

Oh no, it's gotta be much more than that. They've got two trains that each sit 16, and the ride is also only a minute long. If they're running both trains, it's like a continuous line, because the dispatch interval is about 40 seconds, and the actual ride is about 60 seconds. The trains are one after another.

Dumbo has an incredibly long dispatch interval because the ride is included in it (they can't load more people until the ride is over). The interval is a couple minutes, and it's not a continuous loader, but the OHRC is still 600+.

Even 1 train with 2 minutes for load/unload and ride, it would still put hourly capacity at 480/hr. At 90 second intervals, the capacity would be 640/hr. So with 2 trains running, Barnstormer is easily operating at 1,000+/hr.

Which is higher than nearly all the rides in Fantasyland. I never realized Barnstormer was that much of a people-eater!

I've been reading these message boards for a while now, but this is the first time I've ever actually felt the need to chime in...

The Guests Carried Target is 860/hour for the Barnstormer. However, during the busy seasons when we're at our most efficient we can easily clear 1,100.

Barnstormer and the Speedway are big thrills for little kids, that is very big for them.

One other question, are the dueling Dumbos going to run at the same time, or are they going to alternate? Maybe each side will be independant?

Nobody has asked that question before.

I'm assuming they'll just run whenever. Think of Primeval Whirl. When both sides are running, the cars on both sides aren't in sync, and if they are, it's by coincidence, not design. There's one line, and then it's split into two sides, and the sides operate independently.
