Anyone just start grabbing ADRs at 180 days out?

I looked the other day and noticed that 180 days out puts you right at Memorial Day weekend in 2016. So, I'm already potentially thinking about a trip and grabbing ADRs for where I may be. For example, I'm thinking I would be in Epcot on 5/29 and 5/30 for the last two days of the F&G festival so started grabbing dinner ADRs for the most wanted restaurants in and near Epcot. On 5/31, I'm thinking maybe AK. ADRs for 5/31 open up tomorrow so I'll start looking at ADRs in that area. (When Tiffins opens, I'm sure I'll have to re-evalulate).

Anyone else do this? I'm not going crazy with them but being selective of potential times for dinner. I promise I'll give up ADRs when trip is firmed up for those no longer needed/wanted.

If I am considering a trip but unsure if it will actually work out I will absolutely start booking ADRs. If we decide we are not going I cancel them. I'd rather go through that hassle than not book and have slim pickings of restaurants we do not care for.

I do that all the time when I'm juggling tentative travel dates. As soon as I solidify my plans I drop the extraneous/unnecessary reservations.

I'm going day-by-day during Memorial Day week. Currently 180 days allows through 5/31. I picked Tusker House for breakfast (just because) and Sanaa for dinner. Haven't done either one.

Nice! Trying Sanaa for the first time in two weeks, and I have a Tusker House reservation for my trip in February. Trying to balance my favorites with some new places!

Yep. Already got 'Ohana, CG, Kona Cafe breakfast, LTT, LeCellier, and Beaches and Cream built in. Rose&Crown at 7:50 (with Illuminations at 9pm). Teppan Edo is relatively easy to get but I have an ADR for that too since I haven't tried it. I have ADRs starting Friday 5/27. You never know about another 24 hour MK day. If not, then the timeframe may shift a day or two later.

I had previously booked ADR's for my next planned trip in April '16. But then I've rescheduled my trip to go with a cousin who's visiting in January '16. In all probability I'll end up dumping the April trip. But I'm still holding on to the ADR's, on the off chance that I'll be able to afford another trip so soon.

So yeah, book away while the choices are good!

That's what I'm doing! Already thinking about tentative schedule:
  • Fri, 5/27: 'Ohana Dinner (Arrive. MK evening or some or all of 24hrs in MK if offered)
  • Sat, 5/28: Kona Cafe Breakfast, LTT Lunch, CG Dinner (MK day or open day if doing 24 hours)
  • Sun, 5/29: Teppan Edo or LeCellier Dinner, Beaches & Cream Dessert (Epcot, F&G Festival)
  • Mon, 5/30: Rose & Crown Dinner (7:50pm before 9pm Illuminations) (Epcot, F&G Festival)
  • Tues, 5/31: Tusker House Breakfast, Sanaa Dinner (AK Day)
  • Wed, 6/1: Mama Melrose Lunch, Cape May Dinner (HS Day -- Yes, I've eaten at 50s Prime Time and HBD)
  • Thurs, 6/2: Likely checkout day. Hang out at Disney Springs. Drive home in afternoon.

I've actually gone a step further and booked a room reservation and made ADRs 190 days out when I wasn't sure if I was going a certain week or the following week.

Still trying to pay off my last trip from three weeks ago! I was waiting on spring deals but I guess I could book the room, then call back to apply special rates.
