I heard a rumor that ALL of DTD is going to be closed in late summer for "reconstruction" Has anyone else heard this? I know about PI closing but, someone said that ALL of DTD is going to shut down. I would think that would not be good thinking for Disney to do that.

Not only does it not sound reasonable, there's no way it would be cost-effective to close that many retail stores and restaurants at the same time. Reconstruction of retail is always done with the least possible disruption to consumer access. They might put up a lot of "Pardon our Pixie Dust" signs while they do renovations, but never close unless, like PI, it's a complete gutting and rebuild of an entire area.

I agree!! Im just not buying it that they would close all of DTD, its an attraction in itself. We usally spend an evening there just walking around and enjoying ourselves........ok, ok, my wife spends and entire evening shopping while me and the kids walk around.

This won't happen. Only PI will close. WDW can't afford to close the Marketplace or the Westside since these areas actually attract people there.

Those retailers pay a pretty penny for their locations in DTD. I dont think their corporate offices would but up with a total shut down of that area.
