Disney makes a lot of money on the dining plan, so my guess it will come back when staffing levels get up to where Disney wants them. We spoke to a manager at Topolino's on our trip last October and he told us they were still having trouble filling positions. You think so? Even with the new boss?

Is this sarcasm or have you been living under a rock?
Sadly?

The dining plan is coming back, it was always going to come back, and it has nothing to do with old Bob or new (older) Bob. They make a fortune on the thing.
Exactly. It's crazy how many people seem to think that Disney is withholding the dining plan to screw guests. Uh, no, they sold the dining plan in the first place to screw guests. The only reason Disney would have ever had the Dining plan is that it MAKES MONEY. It’s not like they need to take a loss on something to bring in customers.
I am guessing it’s not back yet due to staffing shortages.

Weve been happy with it because weve used it wisely and have never lost money on it. Weve always made out saving money .... never a great deal of money but something. Those who get screwed are the newbies and others who dont know how to get the most out of it.Exactly. Same thing with breakfast at some of the restaurants that still isn't back. "Disney is keeping Garden Grill Breakfast closed to save on labor." Uh, no... They'll gladly pay the labor costs, once they can get it, in order to sell you a $45 plate of scrambled eggs.
Yeah there are ways to make it work and "beat it" if you're well-informed and do a fair amount of planning. But there are so many no-win scenarios. Little kids who have to pay but barely eat. Big kids who have to pay adult prices but barely eat (and definitely don't drink alcohol), etc. Most people lose on the DDP.Weve been happy with it because weve used it wisely and have never lost money on it. Quality wise, I agree that has been an issue that needs improvement. It will come back, with changes, but Dis will continue to profit greatly from it.
As with anything it’s buyer beware. If it sounds too good to be true and you don’t look into it to see how to work in your favor you are going to lose. There are enough posts here and on other sites to educate guests on the advantages and disadvantages before deciding whether it’s worth buying into it.Same thing with breakfast at some of the restaurants that still isn't back. Plus as an international guest, we often get free dining plans as an option as we don't get other discounts (room rates etc) available to y'all. As with anything it’s buyer beware.
