Hey Guys

I just saw the opening day video from EPCOT 1982. During the ceremony the Disney Pres gave the first family arriving at EPCOT Walt Disney World Silver Tickets. Which as he stated were good for their life time and allowed them entrance into the parks when ever the wished. Does anyone have info on this, do these tickets still exist???
Cheers

Yes they are still around If i am not mistaken. I think you can get in up to 3 people with the pass as well.

They gave them out to the first family at MGM and AK as well. I think they gave some out during the Million Dreams too. I also think that they are given to Cast Members with 25+ years of service. They are good for WDW and DisneyLand.

Correct me if I'm wrong because I was just a kid at the time, but back when they did the 15th Anniversary at the Magic Kingdom every so many guests thru the gates won a prize. Mostly it was souvenir stuff but they did give away at least 1 car each day. Also, they hit a milestone number of guests having entered the park and that person, if I'm not mistaken, won silver tickets. Is that right? I just remember being impressed by the thought of it. Mostly my sibs & I desperately wanted to win the car. We thought that would be the best!

:eek::eek: That would be amazing. Do I understand this correctly? These lucky folks received an unlimited entry pass to WDW? I would pass out if I ever won one. Outstanding.

I don't know any specific information about the tickets given to the first Guests to each theme park, but silver passes are not uncommon. Every salaried employee of the Walt Disney Co. has one, as do all others that have passed their 15th anniversary with the company. There are also gold passes--far less common--that are given to executives.

That doesn't seem like he was talking about that, thats only a 3 day park hopper.

I think they are two different things, the one I linked is silver, and never expires, but it was only given away to the first 10K Epcot guests in 1982 apparently and is just good for 3 days not a lifetime of days.

You just jogged my memory! My Mom got something during that time, I think it was a one day ticket. But it was pretty so she just kept it. I'll have to ask if she still has it, I'm sure she must!

If the silver pass gets unlimited admission + 3 guests what does the executive's gold pass get? Admission plus unlimited food & merch? Just curious how it would trump the silver.
