anyone have an idea about when pop century is opening?

I dunno when its going to open......But I was able to get a sneak peak in the resort......The making final furniture arrangements in the last 2 buildings and waiting for the rest of the grass to grow my guess it will be open for Christmas week 2002.......or even by labor day depending on demand levels....

What would those indications be? Disney Transport has already begun the hiring process for all the new drivers we shall need for the opening... and everything I've heard from my grapevine says October... but *shrug* who know's with Disney.

Personally, I think October is a prime time to open it... it's a slow time of the year, which will allow the resort to get acclimated, and figure out what works, and what doesn't. And then, just as everything is adjusted, BOOM in comes Christmas :)

Why do the same questions keep coming in over and over again???? We just discussed this, don't any of you remember???

Tyler said they are hiring 200 new drivers for the opening of at least part of this resort, October/November 2002. Of course, I bet some dimwit will post right below me with something like.....Probably not till 2003 when the economy gets better!

Sheesh!!!!

I called and tried to get a room there because while I worked at CBR I could see POP everyday and I wanted to stay there in May because the 50's and 60's were supposed to open in March of this year. When I called they said that production had stopped because of the economy. Oh well I already had reservations at All-Star Music anyway. I didn't care as long as I was staying on proptery. Excuse my spelling.

Some former co-workers of mine in F&B were thinking about transfering to PC and being part of the opening crew. They told me that it would be early 2003 before they would be needed. This was toward the end of March/early April so things may have changed.

I would think that PC wouldn't be opened unless a food court area was ready to be opened. That's what I based my thoughts on. Blah.

Just a thought... I know PC was going to be open in phases... it might be that they've already got what they need for initial opening, and that early 2003 is when they will be opening the other half? *shrug*
