Anyone ever played Hide and Seek in a park?

Vern and I do it all the time. He "hides" in the smoking area, and then "seeks" me in the nearest gift shop when he's done with his cigarette.

I've done a scavenger hunt before. It was when I was a CP the people in my work place who were in charge of activities put one together. We were in groups of 4 and we had to go around and write down things like the names of the ferries at the TTC, what happens in a certain part of an attraction, and other things that we had to find and write down. Some of them were hard to find. It was pretty fun though.

This sounds like fun. I want to do a scavenger hunt with my wife and brother-in-law when we go down in May. Do you still have the one you did or does anyone on the board have any ideas on where to find one?

I would put one together myself, but that would take the fun out of it for me.

The one thing I hate about scavenger hunts is that those doing it always come up to the CMs and ask questions about the ride, instead of actually experiencing it themselves (which is the whole POINT of the scavenger hunt, right??)

That's why I like a photo scavanger hunt idea. It forces people to go to the place to take a picture of the thing.

Just make sure that you don't have them take photos of anything inside a dark ride or any other place that asks for no flash photography :hammer:

Another idea (one of my coordinators did this) was to take pictures of really obscure things in the parks, and have everyone look around to try to find out what the pictures are of and where they are.

I like the photo scavenger hunt idea. That way you still can enjoy your day in the park. I saw a neat idea on my local news a while back about hidden scroll signing. It goes like this.. There are clues posted on a website about hidden scrolls through out the city/state/world? (I can't remember) But the point is, there are a bunch of these small scrolls hidden and when you find them, you sign your name, put it back and try to find the next. It's fun to try and find them all and see who has found and "tagged" them.
