Just thought it would be a cool thread to share pics of stuff you may have put together for the holiday. I couldnt find a Jack Sparrow costume for my 4 month old son so I made one myself.

I made the hat, belts, compass, vest, sash and boots. Everything else was bought and altered to fit the costume.

The best Halloween costume I ever made for my DS was a Lego. We bought a yellow sweatsuit to go under it. The I cut the bottom off a cardboard box, and cut holes for his head and his arms. I wrapped the box in yellow paper, and then glued yellow butter tubs to the front. We wrote Lego on his cheek, and he wore another yellow butter tub for a hat. It was great! I'll look for the pic to post.

Tomorrow I shall post a picture of my Jack Sparrow costume that I've been working on for the last 4 months, costing in excess of $500.

My work has a costume contest where 1st place is a trip to Hawaii!

I hope to win...

More tomorrow...

Thank goodness for Grandmas!! My mother made all of DD's costumes when she was little. She was a dalmation, Minnie Mouse, Esmerelda, a pirate and, my favorite, Dorothy, complete with shiny red shoes.

our Halloween Costume

well ,
This is a cool thread...I'm making a costume for Michelle and I for an upcoming Halloween party at Magic Kingdom, our annual Ad/lib party for attractions. Anyway a few years ago I went as a Jungle Boat and everybody loved it. This year I wanted to do something unique...sooo....here it is.... we are going to be a "Doom Buggy" ride vehicle from the Haunted Mansion.. It's a work in progress, but I will post ongoing photos of it here if there is interest...Anyway here a few...Unfortunately, I been sick so this is a slow process... 1st photo shows size of the costume..gonna be black and have audio too...:ROFLOL:
Sincerely,
Will.........aka BABS

You better get to painting! Don't have much time left.

Please share a picture of the two of you in it when you're done! It looks like it'll be a wonderful costume!:D

It's that time of year so I thought I would revive this thread! :sohappy:

Anyone making a costume this year? This will be my first MNSSHP so I'm (with the help of my lovely mother) making an Alice costume! It seemed like the best option for me because a) Disney related, b) not a long dress, c) doesn't require a wig since I have blonde hair of about the same length. Coming up with a costume idea is tricky enough before you start to take into account the Florida weather and functionality for going on rides!

Epcotgrl, your costume/picture is so cute! The blue fabric that I bought is a slightly different shade but I really like yours. The pattern that I bought isn't specifically for Alice so we're altering it a bit. I might need to add a little collar like yours had!

Erika, I'm so glad you chose to make your Aurora costume BLUE! Every time I see an Aurora costume it is pink...ugh! That's my favorite part of the movie "pink...NO blue!" :)

My parents may go as Tinkerbell and Peter Pan (if dad can be convinced to wear tights...:lookaroun He did wear eyeliner to be Capt Jack at last year's P&PP, so anything is possible.) My brother (18) probably won't want to dress as a Disney character, he said he's going as the Joker. I think once he considers how heavy a purple jacket will be, he may reconsider that...We're going with another family of 6 (kids from 11-17) so I'm excited to see what they choose as well. I'm the most excited and ambitious of the family, so I began work on the apron part of my costume tonight. I'll post pictures when I finish!

So let's hear your costume ideas!

I didn't do MNSSHP last year, but I did it the two years previous. I will be there this October as well, but I doubt we will do the party.

Three years ago I made a Woody costume, that looked great (but I cannot find a pic right now).
In 2006 I made a Prince Phillip costume that looked a little something like this:

Last year I was Dumbledore, but I haven't considered this year's costume yet.

This was us last year - we were fairies of some sort, LOL, I was trying to be the Blue Fairy. This year we are buying costumes because we just are not that great with a sewing machine!!:)

Rafiki costume

I made this a few years ago...before the opportunity to meet the real Rafiki at WDW. Everything was hand made; from the foam carved head piece to the tight fit suit. He had the walk with the staff mastered as he was five at the time the movie came out. I even built a small pride rock with repeating audio from a CD player hidden inside.

I have more photo of him if interested.

I've made most of my costumes. I used them at several anime and the wizard world conventions ..But only 2 of them were used during MNSHHP which was Link from The Legend of Zelda and The Great Sayianman from Dragonball Z (Which I'm going to be again at this years party..I was intending to be Sora from Kingdom Hearts 2 but due to some technicalites I wasn't able to get it set up. Here's what it looks like.

Arrrggghhh! The Doom Buggy is Genius!!!!:ROFLOL:

Please post the work in progress. What an awesome idea!

Actually, Captain Jack Sparrow walked around my neighborhood last Halloween and I couldn't believe how much the person looked like Johnny Depp.
