Anyone ever do this one share thing?

I was just searching the internet the other day for pretty much anything Disney and came across this which I thought was a neat idea. You can buy one share of pretty much any stock and they send you this cool stock certificate. You can get it framed and stuff but that gets a little expensive. For just the stock and the transfer fee was like $70 bucks I thought it was worth it so bought one. Disney is #1 on their top 10 list.

many people have, but it is cheaper to open a discount trade account and to buy them yourself (you will get many more shares for that $70). Request one certificate so you can frame it yourself. Its selling for $25.80 at the moment, it's about a $10 fee or so for each transaction (depending on which place you open with - I have TD Ameritrade).
You can also buy directly from Disney, but they sell in big lots.

We've bought Harley Davidson and Disney as gifts and Pixar for ourselves through One Share.

You should check into the Dividend Reinvestment Program. Then, instead of a check you will get a fraction of a share. Maybe someday you will have 2 shares!

I bought a share for my daughter when she was born. She loves having it hanging in her room. They also give the kids a coloring book that attempts to explain the benefits of investing.
