I dont know about where you live but her on the Gulfcoast of Florida there are diveshops/center where you can get SCUBA Certified. It does take a little while and some investment in gear.

Divequest is 3 hours long but you are only in the tank for aproximately 40 minutes. They will provide you all the dive equipment if needed.

Out where you are you will do your certs in the summer - in a quarry most likely,

You can also do cert trips to tropical places.

You can also do your certification dives on the Jersey Shore.


Certification courses are $200 - $300

You can do them in a weekend if you want (two long days) or spread over a week. The weekend 'executive' once tend to cost more.

Then you have to schedule a certification dive.
