Anyone Else Make Their Own Autograph Books?

About a year ago, I saw a tip on Allears where a mom spoke of making her kids their own autograph books. I loved the idea + it's saved me a little $, but I'm wondering if I can do any more to spruce these up.

The books I got are actually diaries that have brightly striped covers with a cutesy cutout and a monogram style letter (i.e. their respective first initials) on a polka dot background. Between leftover sticker sets we've gifted the kids, stickers from my mom, sticker sheets from Disney Movie Club, and some I've picked up at the store- I'm trying to devote at least one set of pages to each character. If I don't have stickers, I'm printing pictures from the Internet and using glue to put them on.

Does anyone else do this and have any suggestions for other ways to amp up the books?

I make autograph books too but not until we get home. I used to buy them but found we always seemed to get more autographs than there were pages.
I take a spiral bound large index card notebook with the nice tear out feature from an office supply store and have the character sign on the solid white side. I know its not pretty to take with you but we still write on the front and/or use stickers on this temporary book.

I buy a small photo album about 8x8 I think that have Tinkerbell, Mickey, etc on them from a hobby store or even used the small Mickey album from Creative Memories. I then on each page put the signature index card on the page and the picture that goes with it if you want and then decorate. My daughter loves to do this. By decorating the album after you get home, you can decorate it according to what characters you have.

Have fun! And don't forget your name and address inside-I hear Disney will mail to you if you lose it.

Now I'm feeling much better about buying books w/120 pages. They feel so big, and it's probably too much, but better too much than too little.

Great tip on putting the addresses in them...I had a small panic attack today wondering what I'd do if they got lost. thanks!

Yes we did last year and the Character's loved them. I used the colored 5x7 notecards and made a page for all the charcters we usually see there and then I made some generic pages with MK,Epcot etc on them. I googled disney clipart and used these to put on the pages. We ended up taking it to kinko's and had it spiral bound. Worked great for us.

Not for myself but I made some for a swap on Craftster. One for a girl who loved Princesses and the other for a boy who loved Pirates.

I was so pleased with how they came out. (You can see them here).

We didn't exactly bring our own autograph book, but when we were in Magic Kingdom last month, Belle signed our Beauty and the Beast Blu-ray for us!

That's similar to the concept I've been using. I've got customized pages for each of the characters we're likely to see. The pages in the journal are perforated for easy tear out, so I'm thinking about framing the autograph book pages with corresponding photos taken at the time rather than keep the book intact post trip.

They are GORGEOUS!!!

That's funny you say that...the new special edition of Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 comes out right before our trip and I'd thought about bringing along a copy for autographs.
