Anyone else heard that EE is closed?

Rode EE 3 times on Thurs. 2/9 and on the 4th ride, the ride shut down with us sitting in the train, still at the station. No problem, as the ride is still being tweaked. Went back Fri. and it was still closed. We then returned to our room at the BCV and had a message on our room phone that EE would be open for 1 day for AKL guests and then remain closed untill the official opening. I`m not sure what to make of it. Anyone heard this or rode since?
By the way, Love the ride as did my 4 boys ages 15-20.

You got lucky on the 9th. I was there and also got my first ride on the 9th and EE was up and down and up and down. It seemed like it would run for about 30 minutes and then shut down.

I was at SSR and I will say I had no messages about the ride.

in all fairness, it doesn't have to be open until April ;)

Consider this a privilege from Disney, not a right.

If it is true, and it is closing until April, I guess that would make sense because next week being Presidents week, attendance will be on a upswing. Maybe they do not want to have it open for the large crowds yet.. My wife will be happy though, she is 4 1/2 months pregnant and already told me she would be mad if I got to ride it before her!!! :D

It is not closing until April. The ride officially opens in early April. However the ride will be open between now and then on a soft opening basis. In other words it will be open some days closed others, and rarely open for the entire day when it is open. The ride is not yet 100% finished and thus the ride will be down for work/tweaks here and there over the next few weeks.

It will be a meet and great with the Yeti from Monsters Inc.

The track is getting torn out and is up for sale at MouseSurplus.

lol -- and to make room for the new "the wilds" meet and greet too!

We got a chance to ride this as well on Thurs. 3 times.......awesome! I was suprised to see it open. But as well, we were staying at the BCV and recieved the same voicemail, that the ride was closing for some last minute touches. They were not clear as to whether or not EE will be open again before April.

Absolutley! Everyone is planing on riding before official opening (as we were)
and hate to see anyone dissappointed. If someone rides soon, it would be awesome to hear from them to put this to rest.

To build on this thought....actually, Disney does not have to let anyone ride it ever, if they dont want to.....

I was at AKL until Saturday and got no voice mail stating it would open for 1 day for AKL guests, but rode it three times Saturday [in addition to the five times last Wednesday and the ten times last Monday], it wasn't limited to AKL guests at all that day. Seems odd that BCV guests would get a voice mail that it was going to open only for AKL guests. :veryconfu

I can't imagine them closing it completely between now and 7 April, unless they need to do major work before opening [there is a fairly rough bit of track in the backwards dark turn that could use work]. I suspect installing cameras and related equipment for the on-ride photos will require a bit of a shutdown, but not almost two months?
