Anyone else encounter Roberto?

With TiW you also save on tax. While 18% gratuity is based on the non-discounted total, tax is calculated only on the discounted amount.
I've found that the discounted total plus tax & gratuity usually ends up being very close to the original listed price alone.

I'm sorry if this is a bit off topic here, but I need your expertise / advice.

We're heading down to WDW in 10 days (yaay!) and have the DDP but are also thinking of getting TiW to leverage both (as many have suggested). So here's where I'm a bit confused:

TiW gives you 20% off dining at most places
TiW then adds an 18% gratuity

So how is this a good deal? To me, now I'm only getting 2% off my meal price?

Any information you can provide is much appreciated! Thanks!

Judy :-)

Assuming you are like most people and usually tip around 20% for good service you will actually be saving 22%. The only way you would only be getting 2% off of your meal is if you are normally a ridiculously cheap tipper.

In essence just consider the TIW card as paying for all your gratuities.

first of all, you don't ask someone for a compliment. However, if a manager came over and asked how my service was, then if I thought the kid was great I'd let him know. But as far as tracking down the manager to give someone a compliment, not gonna happen.

Thanx tell that to disneyrcks

Well you were going to pay the 18% grat anyway so they just make it easier and include it.
