Anyone else a little surprised there's no gaming in Circusland?

From the initial renderings, I thought it was a given that gaming would be a major component in Circusland. Given that the red tent will be merchandise, the blue tent will more than likely be meet and greets, the yellow tent is food service and there are no games in Dumbo, it would appear there won't be any gaming in Circusland.

I was expecting a gaming area much like the one in DinoLand USA to be a major part of CirusLand. Anyone else surprised there aren't any?

Thankfully!! I think they probably realized how well carnival games went in Dino-Land and made the right decision to keep them out of Circus-land.

Thank goodness there aren't any. They are a little tight for space, so I'm glad to see they are not cluttering up the walkways.

"A word may be said in regard to the concept and conduct of Disneyland's operational tone. Although various sections will have the fun and flavor of a carnival or amusement park. There will be none of the pitches, game wheels, sharp practices, and devices designed to milk the visitor's pocket book." -Walt Disney

This quote from Walt Disney is the main reason why I hate DinoRama. I don't mind them on the Boardwalk...but that's because it's outside of a theme park but he never wanted these things in the parks.

I was very, very outspoken and against them in the beginning. As long as they're confined to one area, I think they'd be okay though and would add some excitement to the area.

That said, after seeing to yesterday, CircusLand has a kind of charm that I haven't really ever felt before at WDW. Hopefully, that won't change when the whole area is open, but it really has a calm, park-like feel to it.

Yeah they could have done so much more with that space and i always remembered disney hated those things and the whole point of wdw was..... space and none of that kind of thing! Never played in dino land but i have on the boardwalk a couple of times, it was fun at night the only probs is the cm had to train me so i could actually win a prize lol

Because it's not tribal land?

Sorry, been lots of bills and legislation around here debating over casinos and whatnot and the tribes that are trying to get in on the money train. First thing that came to mind.

I'd be fairly surprised if they ever tried to do this again. DinoRama never seems to have lines for the games. And the ones in Paradise Pier (another location like a sideshow/midway where they almost make thematic sense) never seemed to do well either, not sure if the theming change to Disney properties helped or not. Maybe some streetmosphere type theming or games like what they set up for Brave could work. But pay for play with prizes? Just seems out of place and destined to fail.

I expect some games, but i also expect them to be free of charge and not ones that reward a prize. Seems Disney likes to avoid that.

Fantastic idea for Brave, setting up a safe version of the highland games could be a great attraction.
